Should be a close one. The Seahawks are in trouble, their D is horrific, the players don't understand assignments. That tells me they need to fire Ken Norton Jr. - VanHockeyGuy
It's terrible, their D is atrocious. I think the players are okay (better than what they're showing), but Norton has never been a good coach anywhere he coached. He should have been fired last season.
It all comes down to Petey boy though. He needs to adapt, both in-game and to the times. Don't think he will. |

He was probably 7th on the RHD depth chart to start but with Hamonic not around and Keeper breaking his leg. He's moving on up. |

Canucks are going to need Selke like performances by at least four forwards this season because the defense is going to be brutal. |

Demko will stand on his head and people won't worry. Shaw hasn't had enough time to break all of Green's team bad habits anyways. I'll worry around Christmas. |

Trey Flowers is sh*t, hand picked by Carroll. I don't like their chances next week either. Jamal Adam's also needs to play better. Bottom line is if the players don't understand what they are supposed to do, the solution is obvious.

Green runs his preseasons kind of backwards. While other teams are trying to figure out their NHL line ups from the start, he'll keep rotating lower tier players until the very last preseason game. We'll open the season against teams that gelled lines for a week plus ahead of us all in the name of getting looks at players who are obviously not in the picture. Those players should be showcasing in the AHL camp but right up to the end, they will be on a 2/3 NHL line. There will be confusion in the first few regular season games as he will face second guessing and be forced to make changes... something that could have been done in the preseason.
Doubt me but he's done this every season and I've made this post the last 2 preseasons and got it right.
Remember when QH went through rookie camp on the 2nd PP unit, never got a look even though you could see he was ahead of everyone on D? Then game one came and it was the exact same D on the point...Edler... who fumbled the puck over and over and we were yelling for him to get Hughes up there... and by game 3, he did... this should have been figured out in the preseason but he refused to do what everyone else could see... Hughes was the guy... Edler had no reason to be the QB... he sucked on the point and the whole world could see it. The whole world had watched Edler being the other teams best PK... but Green is one stubborn MF. - boonerbuck
Green does this every year. He even said a few days ago the roster you start the preseason games with is a lot different than the one you finish them with.
They had b2b games and they wanted the veteran lineup for their home game to show the crowd, much like Seattle did last night.

Ya I don't really buy this. Other teams are figuring out their NHL lineups from the start? No they aren't: it's a constant mix of players until they start to whittle the team down. TG has done some good things in preseason as well, like Petey as C and pairing QH and Tanev immediately and allowing young guys to beat out vets amongst others. I'm all for TG bashing, but given the poop he's had to work with it's not like there were clear cut NHL players in the organization.
On the flip side, if he wasn't giving people opportunities to showcase themself (Motte, Klim, Rathbone, etc) people would be yelling he's too stuck in his head - NewYorkNuck
Im not talking about bubble players or players you know have a shot... or players like Rathbone and Klim that are being groomed. I'm talking about players you know are not really in the picture.
Also, watch how many times we face a team with many more NHL players in their preseason line up. Over and over it's the same. Keep telling yourself all the other clubs are doing the same as Green. Maybe a couple... but most are looking at their potential line ups... not tier 3 or 4 players. Give it a couple more preseason games and you'll see what Im talking about... this is the 2nd game... lets see what the lines look like at #4 or so....
I get this reply every time.

I watched some of the highlights of other teams young star tournaments.
Got to say, I don't miss it for Van's prospects. What a poop show some of those games were. 3/4 of the players never ever going to even see NHL action, running around trying to impress.
Ryan Johnson was right that the kids come to main camp battered and bruised then are asked to impress against actual NHL competition.
Do we get to see Benning's newest acquisitions tonight do we know yet? |

Haven't watched a Seahawk game yet, I did, however, watch both Arizona Cardinal games. Murray looks like a young Russel Wilson. |

That would be an ok 2nd pairing. But it’s going to be the matchup pair playing the tough minutes. After them it’s a bunch of ok 3rd pairing guys.

Did he say he would be there or that everyone would be vaccinated? Have to think that there is a good chance Hamonic will waive by Oct 1st and is out for this season. $3M to spend on EP and QH? |

I hope so if he's such an idiot that he won't get vaccinated then I hope they can reallocate that money to the young players who deserve it. |
