That literally popped in my timeline, copied and pasted and I was still second.

Good looking roster tonight. 8 guaranteed roster players, another few probables and some AHL guys.

Here's another procrastinating dipsh*t

Dhaliwal on Hamonic: Things I heard over the weekend is he is thinking about retirement, sitting out for the season or coming back. Everything is at play.

Thinks decision could be made soon.

What an absolute pointless piece of info.

I wouldnt jump to conclusions.

This guy has a daughter with a pretty big health problem. Ideally he would have decided before he signed, but when it comes to the health of his family, I'm ok with him deciding before the start of the season.

But I can with the season he had before that. With all things considered last season, it would be rash to simply give up on him over it. Need I remind you it was his sophomore season and he's what 21 now? Younger than the player everyone is penciling in as his replacement, Rathbone.

Rathbone has played but a few promising games. Hughes had a full incredible rookie season. How can people just jump to these conclusions?

- boonerbuck

Because he's just not as good as people who defend him think he is. He is a rover that happens to be a defenseman, if he were designated a winger, no one would care about QH or worry about him potentially wanting/signing for whatever the going rate for young defensemen are going that put up points. Rathbone at least is cheaper and can be cost controlled for another 4-5 years before he needs to be paid big money.

QH is not wanting to sign for less than 8-9 mil a season, if he was, he'd already be signed by now. I agree with Vantel, I think he only deserves 5-6 mil for 3 years and if he manages to actually play defense then maybe then he's worth 8-9 mil a season for 8 years or whatever. I want to pay the big bucks for a Hedman at 21 than a Barrie

Yeah, it’s more of an indictment of Benning not having his poop sorted out.

How so?

Hamonic will make his decision by Friday and if he moves on Benning will replace him.

I think this is a non issue as a player makes his career decision within the next four days.

Seasons getting ready to start, big roster turnover, huge pressure to make playoffs, three key players missing. TH was also a flake when he was with the Islanders about personal stuff. JB just needs to wait right? F*ck that. You play or don't.

With inflation going up steadily, people losing their jobs, and the economy tanking, nobody has patience for a couple self entitled kids with no concept of what’s transpiring in the financial world around them.

He sat out the covid bubble playoffs with Calgary because of his daughter's health. I imagine its more than just procrastination, and when it comes to your kids health, I don't think there's a timeline on making decisions on what's best for them. If he's willing to give up 3 million dollars a year for her, I imagine its an important enough decision

This is exactly the point of people complaining about him. He has played half of his NHL career at a high level and the other half very flawed. He does not deserve 8-9 mil. He deserves a bridge deal around 6 mil .

As you pointed out the other day if Benning pays these players too much the fans would be complaining about something else. I would be one of those fans.

Sign him to a bridge deal like Dahlin and get the season going.

- VANTEL

I'd like this as well. Not going to rush into a trade them attitude over it though.

At the moment with how little we know, this comes down to writing them off over missing preseason games. We have yet to find out anything about contracts... whether last season was influenced by schedule, covid or sophomore slump in QH case. We don't know what Rathbone is capable of in the NHL...

This reaction all seems irrational.

Because I bet Hamonic hadn’t made up his mind last week and then suddenly changed it. The league rules weren’t announced yesterday, Benning has had plenty of time to prepare and flat out lied to everyone watching/listening to the broadcast. He should have just said “it’s a tricky situation, we’re hoping Hamonic will be part of our team this season, that’s why we offered him a contract extension but we understand that ultimately he will do what he feels is best for himself and his family”.

Could be. We have no idea. His mom is a nurse and nothing points to him be anti Vax given his daughters illness. It would certainly be a 180 given she has a bad respiratory illness. I personally just don't think he's out of line by taking a bit of time to decide. It's an unfortunate situation for him, and I think it wouldn't even be a decision if his family and daughter was healthy.

Excuse # 2, the schedule.
- Marwood

Be honest.... you don't think that bullpoop had any effect. For the first month and a half we were playing against teams that had time to practice. Rest. See their families. Recover. The Leafs had the complete opposite while the rest of the division had a pretty normal schedule. There was a trade off between the two teams.

This wasn't just another season with a tough schedule... that was the most insane piece of poop schedule I had ever seen. And it was only the Canucks that had it. Call it nothing more than an excuse... but that is a huge sample of dishonesty.

Whatever the reason is you have 3 players who are absent in a must perform season. Maybe JB at some point needs to say why don't all of you take as much time as you need, we're moving on without you.

I don't think the NHL just came up with a rule yesterday seeing they mentioned last year that players would not be penalized for sitting out in the bubble but would be penalized the following year.

GMs can't just terminate contracts . I would think the PA would be involved.

I respect TH's decision and I like the player but if he is not reporting then you need to replace him . You would hate for your GM to run out of time again.

I don't think it is a sh1tshow at all and will be resolved by Friday.

I do love that he is what he was last season for all time, no chance of getting better. Always two extremes. I think he will get a little better at defending, it’s not that much of a stretch for a 20 year old to improve. But hey, (frank) it hes tyson barrie.
