I think they’re just trying to upsell the team to the Seattle fan base. I think they need to realize people there understand the game, at least a portion of them do.

I like watching Eberle play - he's talented as hell, I'm sure he's bummed to be out of NYI, they're close to winning. BUT Its gonna be a rough, long year for the Kraken. When Jared McCann is your 1C, Shawartz, Gourde, Donskoi, Larssen are not players to carry a team - you gotta be realistic about how the season is gonna pan out.

'The lady' is Alison Lukan, who has been based in Columbus. She's well-known in the analytics community and has written for The Athletic, among other sites. She knows her stuff, but it does seem like she has been asked to hype things up as much as possible.

It might take them a bit of time to find the right balance between speaking to new fans vs. hockey die-hards.
