Great job as usual Theo!
Some passing thoughts -
Players have the willpower to change for their betterment. And the team's fortue ad well.. Usually for the positive benefit all concerned, no?
Consider
What comes natural, relying on skill more than anything else, and a pattern of me first, not the team as in cherry picking or anxious for a scoring opportunity rather than a firm, complete act of assisting in the break out through proper positioning.
We don't really believe.it will take Tiews influence on the ice or behind closed doorscto influences others? We don't expect that Toews will go to higher up in management and complain how Colliton doesn't have players respecting what he teaches concerning break out. Cmon'. Let us not ser the breaknoiy failure drag this team to the basrment in the standings
Another thought
Sure St Louis has an nearest in Tkaczuk. But they cannot possibly seriously consider Parayko going the other way. Rumors are not to be doled upon on this board whencevthey appear whimsical or without substance
Now is it unrealistic that Guscreally could play reasonable defense. It is in his attitude where the biggest change must forthcoming. If he is smart enough then he realizes this ight be hus final opportunity to play defensecin the NHL.so he better do what it takes to.have.a job.
One last thought pops up after I began typing.
It is what the Rockford kids could do, their improvement, too, which will bring them to Chicago. It is not long for Connelly, Carpenter to become tail lights. The influx of more and more kids on the forward lines causes the imagination to say, this team is going to be trending in the hard to play against, more gritty direction. Wait.......not imagination...will happen. Thinking Galvas will become a regular, too, if not to start the season then certainly later this season. Thinking brass would love to see Regula keep improving because they envision his shot is an NHL weapon probably more so than what Kryz game brings. |

Thank you, Theo.
That is one of the best hockey axioms about passing then moving. Keep the defense guessing.

It will probably occasionally be used during the regular season when the Bulls play the same night. One game will be on NBCSN and the other on +. |

I was thinking more along the lines of ESPN, ESPN+, TNT et al getting the broadcast contract. |

Theo Fox: Training Camp: Day 4
A summary of Day 4 of Blackhawks training camp including thoughts on the power play plus a lesson of the day. - Theo Fox
Thanks Theo and happy Hockey-Season Eve (at least the pre-season).
I’m stoked to see how this season pans out. Stan added grit and talent, the team should be much improved over last season. Will they make the playoffs? Time will tell, but I say yes.
Just as important as the new additions is the continued development of some of the Hawks young players like Kurashev, Hagel, Lankinen, Kalynuk, Dach, Borgstrom, Mitchell and Beaudin. Not all will make the roster but they should all spend some time with the big club this season.
Reichel is an interesting case. It’s clear the Hawks want him in the NHL, but will they rush him? Is the team truly better with him on the roster and is starting in the NHL right now the best move for his long-term success? I think Reichel should start in Rockford and likely be an early call-up (even if its just a cup of coffee). |

Thank you Theo - I find it kind of fummy what T Johnson had to say about the team. One would have to think that EVERYBODY knew that. We the uneducated fans knew the Blackhawks were a soft team. I don't think that is any shocking news. |

Thanks Theo, another very informative write up. One thing that the cup winning teams had was not only talent, obviously, but also sandpaper. Like you stated, we are starting to see that being added in Jones and McCabe on the back end and Khaira and Hagel in the forward group, and one day soon we will also see Entwistle. Also, let’s not forget that Dach and Toews are back as well. I’d love for them to add a skilled forward with size(playoff Bickel),I know that those are not easy to find. |

Is shaw on off season LTIR or will be go on day 1 of the season?
my prediction for forwards breaking camp day 1 of the season

Do you have Connolly going into the witness protection program? |

Somewhere ESPN, ESPN +, TNT published their broadcast schedule. If Hawks are involved probably won't be on NBCSN. |

That’s why I believe that Stan will make some moves, there are too many forwards on the roster, although not necessarily all top end talent, you’d hate to lose some of these guys that are not waiver exempt, for example Borgstrom. A move or two has to be made. |

Stan has to evaluate how many games/ minutes per game Toews can handle over a season. I think that is why Strome hasn't been shopped harder.

I am sure if Stan wanted to clear a roster spot (and the $3 mil. salary), he would of traded him already for a third round pick.

He may not be able to do so without eating salary? It's tough when everyone knows you want to get rid of a player. We really don't know how hard he's been shopped only Stan does. |

That is my point, if he really wanted to trade Strome as bad as some on this board, if the best he could do is a third and retained salary, he would of done it already.

Ben Pope
Strome continues to be a complete afterthought in the training camp lines: he's with Cam Morrison and Brett Connolly today.
Toews centering Reichel and Hagel will be a fascinating line to watch.
