I'm still hoping Mikheyev figures it out here.
But he really does struggle to finish his chances.
Last minute or so of game 5 still stings.

Yeah he’s played good so far this year, I can see why the leafs didn’t want to trade him of this is what they thought he could bring to the games |

Neither is Dermott not playing well..
Dubas is still trying to jam square pegs through round holes. - Arctic_AARDVARK
I saw Holl cost them the 1st goal
Didn’t notice any Dermott issues in the highlights, but heard plenty about Rielly 🤨 |

There was some definite overkill in here, yes. But saying Dermott had a strong game immediately yanks credibility from anything they had to say for me.
He looked bad... Like really bad. Like if they were to force a forward to play defence bad.
Also, Mikheyev was average. Nothing terrible nothing spectacular still clueless of what to do on the offensive side of the sport. The idea he's getting fed all this ice time leads me to believe there's definitely an open review of his role and if he actually fits. - joel878
Agree on Dermott. He was not good. No beuno. Abscheulich. Or if I'm more verbose: He fumbled the puck a lot and made some unusual decisions (none of which really bit him in the backside - but they would in a real game situation).
Mikheyev I'd give more of a pass to . . . the effort was very strong, the results were very poor. He was involved in a lot of plays and trying to make things happen. He was more noticeable, just not effective offensively. That said, looking at NST, his line had 10 scoring chances for and 0 against. That checks out with how I felt when he was on the ice. |

The thing is tho, and Babs used to always s allude to this, the NHL is not a developmental league. Players shouldn’t be transforming their game at the top level, they should be a finished product. They can improve, but they shouldn’t be changing much.
That’s why I think Dermott should be put out to pasture, Loljegren will never be a player, Nylander will always be a liability defensively, Campbell and Mrazek will only truly be backups etc.. |

Rielly could score a hat-trick every game and the haters in here already have their minds made up about him.
He made a really nice play on the Kaše goal. |

No offence AA, but this is one of the dumbest opinions ever. NHL players routinely develop further in the league. Especially goaltenders. |

Dont care where he is from, thats just stupid for you to say.
Decent defensive player
Jason blake was also very fast, who cares.
He gets the puck and brain farts most of the time.
Dont care what he does preseason. He'll need to show he can finish in the reg season....against nhlers.

If he stays healthy, he's going to get a fair amount of opportunity. Keefe has talked about being able to use him anywhere in the line-up, appreciating his skating, acceleration and engagement skills as being skills that would help our PK, and being a fan of his skills in general, (from an Athletic article) "Obviously he’s gotta stay healthy and all of that,” Keefe said, noting that all was well so far. “But I think he’s got a really good skill set. Because he hasn’t played and (because of) his injury history and such, there’s not a lot of talk about him but he’s a very good and reliable player.”
He could totally get hurt, but if he doesn't, he's going to get more rope than most to prove himself, I think. |

The NHL isn’t the place for players to develop their games into something it isn’t. You are what you are when you make the big show. Babs used to say it all the time. He doesn’t have time to teach everyone how to play, he can only use what they offer and coach them. |

I just don't see how he validates the cap space spent on him no matter how hard I try.
If we want a guy to skate around really fast and do nothing offensively we have Engvall at 500k cheaper. |

Disagree with you whole heartedly. Eventually they have to be developed in the NHL so step up their game since the other leagues are not even close. |

I just hope the Leafs form another line like Mac & the USSR. That was fun. |

Goose Semyonov Mikheyev 🇷🇺
Some of the young guys also impressed. Kirill Semyonov was actually the teams best player possession wise, and had a whopping 96.47% xGF% as well. Adam Brooks looked good filling in for Matthews, so he could have some potential moving up the lineup in the event of injuries. Semyon Der-Arguchintsev was also threatening, especially for a dominant stretch on the four minute power play for the Leafs in the second. |

Sure.
Until he became a leaf. Was it 5 x 5 deal?
His 2nd season wity the blue was pretty good, first was ok, 3rd....well he was fast.
Last 3 seasons with the ducks he was fast as well.
Edit:
It was 5 x 4 = 20m deal. |

As I said, we'll see. Kase is offensively more skilled, when healthy, than Engvall, Mikheyev, Simmonds, Kampf and probably Bunting, and more defensively skilled than Ritchie, Kerfoot and Spezza (and Nylander, let's be honest). Based on his skillset, he's the guy who bumps different players to the 13th forward spot, not the guy who is the 13th forward. |
