Goose Semyonov Mikheyev 🇷🇺 - mr.sir
Lol..
I’d be fine with none of those players on the roster
Robertson-Kerfoot-Kase could be an interesting line tho.. |

Awful take again
GWG in game 1
2nd star in game 2
Fastest Leaf
Best defensive player
Severed tendons
Only 1.65m
You must hate Russians🤷 - mr.sir
Game winning goal? Mik didn’t score in the game. He scored in the pretend shootout they held afterward, if that’s what you’re calling the game winning goal in a 4-1 game. JT had the game winner.
Mik played ok in both games. Ok. |

The NHL isn’t the place for players to develop their games into something it isn’t. You are what you are when you make the big show. Babs used to say it all the time. He doesn’t have time to teach everyone how to play, he can only use what they offer and coach them. - Arctic_AARDVARK
Babs isnt coaching in the nhl anymore. |

Disagree with you whole heartedly. Eventually they have to be developed in the NHL so step up their game since the other leagues are not even close. - Dozzer
I think you are missing what he is saying.
The NHL is not the place to transform your game - to add a new dimension.
If you are a grinder, you can become a better grinder, but you can't become a scorer. |

Sure.
Until he became a leaf. Was it 5 x 5 deal?
His 2nd season wity the blue was pretty good, first was ok, 3rd....well he was fast.
Last 3 seasons with the ducks he was fast as well. - Fakepartofme
He had gotten old by then… the ducks, so he was fading quickly
He only played 2.5 years for the leafs and then was traded to the ducks and still put up 141P for them.
That’s still pretty damn good.

I have higher hopes for Kaše than I ever did for Kah-Lou-man..
I just hope the Leafs form another line like Mac & the USSR. That was fun. - Arctic_AARDVARK
I dont believe kase has played a whole season yet.
As you said the nhl isnt for players to develop into something theyre not. Is kase's case...thats a healthy player.
:p
But the mac Kulemin line had one hell of a great year. |

Once again I disagree.
There has been multiple players in the league that become better after 3-4 seasons, yes they fade sooner as well, but this is nothing new. |

The thing is tho, and Babs used to always s allude to this, the NHL is not a developmental league. Players shouldn’t be transforming their game at the top level, they should be a finished product. They can improve, but they shouldn’t be changing much.
That’s why I think Dermott should be put out to pasture, Loljegren will never be a player, Nylander will always be a liability defensively, Campbell and Mrazek will only truly be backups etc.. - Arctic_AARDVARK
I'm not sure Mikheyev finishing on more chances should be considered "transforming" his game.

I don’t think he’ll ever find his hands.
Looks like he’s trying to be crafty, but for whatever reason the goalies pick it up. |

You're right, blake was fast, could score, had lots of talent and knew what to do with puck. Bad comparison to mickey. |

The point I’m trying to make is I think Mickey will be similar, develop late but then be productive for 5-6 years and then begins to fade |

As a bottom 6 player, he very well could have another 5-6 years. Just got to get his hockey brains back.
We'll see. |

Jason Blake was franking horrible.
His one 40-goal season was the result of Alexi Yashin banking pucks off Blake's ass and into the net.
JFJ signed him to a ridiculous contract, because he was the highest scoring winger available, and JFJ was trying to save his own job.
Blake absolutely refused to go into the dirty areas - he launched weak wrist shots from the perimeter for his 2 1/2 seasons here.
Blake had no heart whatsoever. |

But he still put up over 140P for the leafs. Not the guy you build the lineup around but still a complimentary winger.
But yes, he was nothing more than puck carrying and point production. |

So basically playoff Marner without anyone banking pucks off his ass into the net.
That's a joke by the way. |

As I said, we'll see. Kase is offensively more skilled, when healthy, than Engvall, Mikheyev, Simmonds, Kampf and probably Bunting, and more defensively skilled than Ritchie, Kerfoot and Spezza (and Nylander, let's be honest). Based on his skillset, he's the guy who bumps different players to the 13th forward spot, not the guy who is the 13th forward. - Monkeypunk
I agree, I think he has more upside then all the players you listed. Health is the biggest concern for him. |
