the supporting cast is probably worse than last season. Larsson was one of the better defensive defensemen last year and Keith was terrible. Sounds like a Tanev replaced by Schmidt move that really didn't work out well for the Canucks. - manvanfan
Going to be some 6-5 games for sure |

Oilers have arguably the 2 best forwards in the NHL and they can't win a playoff game. You're probably right, they might win 1 this time around. - K-man25
It’s a process, they’re both still young in NHL years. If it’s been said once it’s been said a million times, it can take years to find the right pieces despite having two of the better players in the league.
Ovechkin and Backstrom won in their 13th and 11th years respectively, Steve Yzerman won in his 14th year, Joe Sakic in his 7th year. |

Oilers are gonna be better this year. They still need a goaltender though. Mike Smith was good last year but he needs help. Nurse is one of the best defenseman in the league and Bouchard is sneaky good, he’ll surprise some this year. - LeftCoaster
Duncan Keith as well. Smith will be ok with that D but he will be counted on. |

Lordy is correct that Israel was a real leader in vaccinations and they did recently have an outbreak but this article from Fortune does a really good job of explaining why. Fortune is a centre-right publication but is considered very creditable in their reporting.
https://www.google.ca/amp...ws-world-coming-next/amp/
“Since April, Israel has fallen from first to 33rd in Bloomberg’s vaccine tracker of populations considered fully vaccinated. The program plateaued amid hesitancy from some in the Orthodox Jewish and Arab communities. About 61% of Israelis have been given two doses, lower than in European laggards earlier in the year such as France and Spain.
Following the spread of the Delta variant over the summer, Israel has seen cases climb, reaching an all-time high of 11,316 daily cases on Sept. 2. The number of people falling seriously sick and being hospitalized, though, has risen less than it did during the last coronavirus wave, peaking at 751 in late August, compared with 1,183 in mid-January. The trend is now downward.
Infections jumped because of the prevalence of cases among the unvaccinated, especially children. There were also so-called breakthrough infections in those who have been vaccinated, and the drop in efficacy of vaccines.
That said, unvaccinated people account for more than 10 times as many serious cases as those who have received two doses, showing that even with immunity waning, shots are providing protection.”

I only (for the most part) read news, emails, look up hockey related information, price fishing gear / new boats and look at real estate. Only occasionally will I look at anything political or pandemic related information if I see a link on Twitter while looking for hockey info. |

I agree, but when I see comments that are a bit misleading I can’t keep myself from commenting. That said, I think it’s a persons right to choose and I don’t begrudge anyone who doesn’t vaccinate. I think they are crazy not to vaccinate but it’s their choice.
I’m a construction PM for a health authority. Half of my crews are unvaccinated and won’t get it. I told their manager that I have no problem with it but don’t come to me later looking for an extension because your trades are behind schedule because of infections. |

I think I saw something online that said he would miss less games, and pay checks, if he played in an American market? Speculation or actual news, I’m not sure. |

He wants to play In America to keep his daughter in WPG safe? How does this make sense? Vintage posted a Twitter clip from a no one. I mean it could be true but it doesn’t make sense and it hasn’t been reported by anyone w credibility |

No one knows if it’s to keep his daughter safe, just more conjecture. He might just not want the vaccine. |

The team has not made a statement so Benning can say all he wants leave it alone it is personal , but people are going to speculate.
Last thurs he repeated twice Hamonic will be here Friday without a doubt. He also said that day the two RFAs were close to getting a deal done . They are not.
Just because he says leave it alone does not mean we will and we will form our own conclusions until the team resolves this.

One other possibility in the Hamonic saga could be that he is in fact vaccinated, did have Covid last year and because of the variant and break through cases he’s worried and considering sitting out.
I don’t know this, just speculating on one additional possibility. This would fit into the “it caught Jim Benning by surprise” narrative. |

I have gathered stuff that I have heard multiple times and formed my own opinion. It is speculation and I have come to my own conclusions and I would be willing to put money on it that I am right.
I came to my own conclusions and have heard podcasts later confirming that they also came to the same conclusions.
I am not making an issue out of it but when the answers are revealed I am pretty sure I already guessed what is happening. It is not rocket science. |
