"Dreger thinks Quinn Hughes is willing to take $6M+ AAV on a bridge. #canucks"
-----------------------------------------------
This would be good news....6X3 perhaps? Canucks might be offering less? |

I don't like either of those units, it's still early though.
Chiasson
Boeser Horvat Petey
Hughes
Pearson
Garland Miller Hoglander
OEL - manvanfan
Chiasson is a good addition hope it sticks. Utility guy can be used up/down the lineup and on both PP units in front of the net. Can play in the tough areas we have alot of pussies on this club led by Bo. |

9 million for eight years for Pettersson would be sweet music!! Hughes at 6 million for three years would be ideal....poor Vantel would get a massive woody and probably pass out from blood loss |

dahlin's deal set the market. anywhere around that would be a good deal. i see where codes is coming from with wanting to go long with QH but i agree with the majority here that a bridge is a good play.
a caveat though is that, unless i'm mistaken, this would make him arbitration eligible at the end of the deal so he could go arbitration at the end of the contract and go into UFA. counter point though is that if he elects arbitration, the club could ask for a 2 year deal, which would effectively lock QH for 5 years.
i'd be on board with that even with the risk of arbitration. i still think the holdup is the EP deal and this QH's has been agreed on generally. |

Lordy is correct that Israel was a real leader in vaccinations and they did recently have an outbreak but this article from Fortune does a really good job of explaining why. Fortune is a centre-right publication but is considered very creditable in their reporting.
https://www.google.ca/amp...ws-world-coming-next/amp/
“Since April, Israel has fallen from first to 33rd in Bloomberg’s vaccine tracker of populations considered fully vaccinated. The program plateaued amid hesitancy from some in the Orthodox Jewish and Arab communities. About 61% of Israelis have been given two doses, lower than in European laggards earlier in the year such as France and Spain.
Following the spread of the Delta variant over the summer, Israel has seen cases climb, reaching an all-time high of 11,316 daily cases on Sept. 2. The number of people falling seriously sick and being hospitalized, though, has risen less than it did during the last coronavirus wave, peaking at 751 in late August, compared with 1,183 in mid-January. The trend is now downward.
Infections jumped because of the prevalence of cases among the unvaccinated, especially children. There were also so-called breakthrough infections in those who have been vaccinated, and the drop in efficacy of vaccines.
That said, unvaccinated people account for more than 10 times as many serious cases as those who have received two doses, showing that even with immunity waning, shots are providing protection.” - bloatedmosquito

As I said yesterday, getting Pettersson's deal done should be the priority first and foremost, I'd be inclined to go 9x8 because of his importance to the club and because of his PPG production relative to his young age and experience in the league. |

I actually said a few pages back I would be ok 8-9 mil on a longer deal.
I want bridge deals for both. I don't think Hughes today is worth a penny more than 6 . I would not like a penny more than 9 mil for Petey but once the deals are done I won't complain well maybe for a day.

Wasn't there a stat awhile back where it showed Pettersson in real good company regarding his PPG for the first two seasons? Something about being compared to McDavid, OV and Crosby? |

I look at Pettersson in the Brayden Point mold for the Canucks, he might not ever win an Art Ross but he's really important to the club if the want to win. He's a near PPG player, he's never been a minus player as he's good defensively, he had 18 points in 17 playoffs games his first look at the playoffs...the kid is the real deal and he was a steal at #5 in the draft.
Brayden Point just signed for 9.5 million, I think anything along those lines on an eight year deal are completely fair. I'm not sure what Benning is offering though? |

This is also Brayden Points third contract . He had a bridge deal worth 6.75 mil . Exactly what I think Petey is worth today.

To me that doesn't matter, if you're good, you're good...pay the man. Pettersson is as good as Point is right now, so pay him. That's my opinion. This second contract, third contract nonsense is just that, nonsense. As a player, if I'm important to your organization I want to be paid according here and now. |
