Lotto max 70 million ticket purchased in Burnaby. Anyone here looking for a new friend?
- K-man25

I saw that. I was just thinking of how that person must feel right now. After the initial celebration I’m sure it’s like “holy (frank), what do I do now?!” That’s an incredible amount of money. I always thought Lotto Corp should make 70 Canadians millionaires instead of giving it to one person.

I always laugh about the common mentality of the ticket buyers when it reaches some huge prize. When it's 70 million, hordes are running to the store to buy tickets... but when it's only 8 million, people don't want to waste a couple of bucks on it... and the pool of potential winners is far greater with the huge jackpots so a multi way split is more likely.

Age is a huge reason why I want to skip the bridge deal route as well. As we can see, 18 and 19 year Olds are more nhl ready than ever before. Prime years are slowly shifting to early twenties with how good these kids are.

Be nice.

I agree some of the cities and towns across Canada are a bit backwaterish but at least they are not real poop-holes like in the US. Have you ever driven along the east coast of the US? How about the south east from Georgia to Texas? Holy cow there are some places that are literally 3rd world.

You’re just a fan of western US (I agree it’s awesome) which is funny because if you surveyed most Americans they would say the western states and their liberal attitudes are what’s killing “America”; Washington, Oregon, Cali, etc.

The NHL is the only major North American league that carries a strict dress code. Exhibit 14, Paragraph 5 of the collective bargaining agreement states: "Players are required to wear jackets, ties and dress pants to all club games and while traveling to and from such games unless otherwise specified by the head coach or general manager."

Coyotes going with relaxed dress code.

Does it mean flip flops, sweat pants and a band t-shirt though?

Of course most of the States is trash. I’ve been everywhere. I couldn’t live anywhere with snow so that essentially limits anywhere except Van. Have you been to Alabama? Makes Edmonton look nice 🤮

Not sure what I'd do with 70 million? I'd actually be able to afford season tickets again.
Agree they should cap it at 20 mill and hand out more prizes.

Not sure what I’d do w the whole amount but I know what I’d do first. Spend $1.9MM to buyout the Flames rink and force them to play with zero fans. Actually maybe I’d allow 20 Canucks fans and make them dress up as smurfs covered in cocaine to honor Gaudreau and the rest of the lockerrrom

Apparently Hughes and Pettersson just seen at Detroit airport with a bunch of Hockey Gear. Hopefully it’s flying to YVR and a deal is announced today or tomorrow.

Either that or maybe they’re flying to Modo to play in the Swedish Elite League lol

Of all the US cities I've visited, I find that Seattle and Portland and maybe Vegas (for a different reason) are the best. I did wine tours in Oregon almost yearly before the pandemic.

Interesting, I find Portland pretty gross. Vegas is a giant carnival not somewhere I’d live. Seattle is ok. Half of my family lives there so grew up spending lots of time there. I like San Diego and Scottsdale. Obviously LA has some nice areas and New York. Most of the east coast is pretty bad

Vegas is only because I play poker and I sublet an apartment there 3 months out of a year during the WSOP season. Portland I like because I like how laid back it is, more than Seattle or Vancouver and it's a good place to stay while I head out on the wine tour.

New York is nice if you want to be able to do something 24/7, Miami is nice for the beaches, and LA is fun if you want to see famous people.

Other than that, yeah, most US places suck.

One of the local talking heads made a comment about the our new Arizona guys and how they did on the bag skate. Said something about a lax culture in the desert. The article you just posted seems to back that comment up.

I hear a lot of people say Denver is a place they'd live in the US.
