Don't all Defensemen compete for the Norris? Only one wins but it's still a competition. So OEL will compete for the Norris. - Load Management
No. They are voted 1st 2nd and 3rd by journalists. You have to get a vote to be on the scoresheet. Hughes, for example, has gotten several Norris votes in both years. Im sure Rathbone will get a bunch this year
I like what I've seen so far with the improved depth and talent. Now its up to the coaching to show they can put it all together. - NuckUp
Pearson Horvat ZacMac through camp.
Pearson Horvat Chiasson so far in the preseason.
Do people really buy Green is going to put 3 scoring lines together like he's claimed 3 camps in a row now? I know there is time but the theme so far and in the past has been shut down checking line. Even if he tries a offensive minded player there... it's still the Pearson Horvat shut down duo who in all honesty, has never been great defensively outside of winning faceoffs in defensive zones.
If he were to try a combo without Pearson there... it would be a first. It's the longest of shots that he tries two offensive wingers with Bo.

If they're not great defensively, wouldn't that make them not a shutdown checking line? They score at a top 6 pace, so maybe he just sees them as a scoring line who he wanted to play more than the bottom 6 that was constantly getting caved in.
And, to be fair, it's hard to make 3 scoring lines when you have Sutter as the anchor to a third line Should have more balance in the line up now

Most of Bo's offense comes on the PP. Pearson can go a month without points. It's not very productive at all 5 on 5. Pearson isn't with Bo on the PP.
They may not be great defensively, but they are not only applied that way by Green... he refers to them as the shut down line getting the tough assignments. So fan labels really don't change any of that.
Yes to be fair it's hard but again without depth, three scoring lines is Greens narrative, not ours.
More balance but how will it be used is the question?
