Most of Bo's offense comes on the PP. Pearson can go a month without points. It's not very productive at all 5 on 5. Pearson isn't with Bo on the PP.
They may not be great defensively, but they are not only applied that way by Green... he refers to them as the shut down line getting the tough assignments. So fan labels really don't change any of that.
Yes to be fair it's hard but again without depth, three scoring lines is Greens narrative, not ours.
More balance but how will it be used is the question? - boonerbuck
No it doesn't Assuming you're also defining "most" as > 50%
I don't love that they resigned Pearson last year, but he's serviceable on the third line, and hopefully he gets bumped down there this year.
I think Green puts them as the "shut down" line because all the other lines were crap. Petey gets caved in against top lines and it doesn't help the team, and Sutter and Beags just couldn't do it. So part is he thinks they're defensively apt, and part is he doesn't have any other options. At least in my opinion.
And just like Green's preseason AHL vs NHL lineups, we'll just have to see how they will be used

I honestly hope they trade these little (frank)s. They both sucked balls last year and want home run contracts? Trade these female doges to Buffalo. Want to be on a winning team? (frank) off to Buffalo you little female doges

Splitting hairs. 18 of his 39 points last season were on the PP... 19 points not 5 on 5... 1 more point 5 on 5.
...and Pearson's 5 on 5 stats are also buffed by how many empty net goals he gets being the Canuck record holder.
Green needs to look at Pearson with Dikcinson for a shut down line. That's why he was signed.

Relax Don, we all know that you'll be cheering for them at a home game soon enough

I know doing math is "splitting hairs" for a lot of people on here, but Bo had 11 powerplay points last year, so 11 out of 39. The year before 16 of 53.
Going off 19/20 season (because of the full season and injury), Bo's PPP account for 30% of his production... Petey 36%, Miller 35%, Boes 31%. So, he's actually a better even strength producer relative to his overall production than the non-shutdown line.

Oh poop, I read the stats wrong. Looking at goals and points as goals and assists.
American sports broadcasters are brutal. An athlete is a diety one week and a bum the next. - Shuswap Wap
Most sports talk shows are just brutal, especially these days since now fans have access to all the info and highlights in the palm of our hands, leaving these guys in a tough spot to somehow talk about sports for 1-3 hours everyday without losing viewer interest.
I imagine back before smart phones, it was easier to just spend half the show catching up listeners on last night's scores, any transactions, quotes from staff/players, talk about the upcoming schedule, etc. Now that would just be considered boring filler
Not my type of players. I’m w Reuby. Brock and Bo took less to play and be leaders. Those are players you can win with. I don’t respect Elias at all - CanuckDon

I think a lot are tired of this . Watch the players that are here and screw the rest.

I agree but until I see the contracts, I'll hold judgement.
Remember, both Bo and Brock held out longer than this. So holding out doesn't mean you can't take less than...
People were raging about Brock because Rick D claimed he was holding out for 7x7 and going to miss regular season games. Next day came the bridge deal and no games missed.

Brock and Bo both signed late, both in mid-September I believe and missed part of camp as well
And if anything, Brock gets talked about in trade rumours more than anyone else out of the young core so clearly loyalty doesn't mean much to some of the media/fans here

That clip was long before smart phones and FB/Twitter. Jim looks like a young man... was that like 20 ears ago?

With that being said, I don't think these two players are cut from the same cloth as brock and Bo.
