The Islanders reason could be as simple as cap implications. As we have seen, they are as close to the cap as can be while signing all these win now players.

As you said, I will keep an open mind.Hopefully he ends up where he should be when we are healthy, 4th line center or wing.

I would buy that but he signed with Arizona for 1M. Most teams can find a way to fit in a 1M cap hit.

Did I miss the lines and pairings for tonight?

Edit: nevermind, I saw this best guess from Jordan Hall

whew...that lineup isnt going to put up many points. especially if the Marchand/Bergy/Pasta line is hemming Frost's line in most of the night.

I also dont get what they are doing with Foerster on that 3rd line...not much offensive firepower for the kid to show out.

It's pretty simple. They know that the kid can score and shoot the puck. They're looking to see if he can handle the physical play and play well away from the puck. Can he contribute in more ways then just scoring goals. That's the key for the kid right now.

They are getting ready for the season, the kid isn’t making the team. They gave him a nod on PP2 during the first game but that’s about it. He also didn’t do much of anything in that game verse the islanders.

Yeah, I don’t see a wing spot available for him now, but there are always injuries…Foerster could be looked at as first call-up for PP and scoring winger.

The injury that bothers me the most is Allison's. I really think that kid is going to be a break out player. I don't think he'll be a star but I think he can be one of those hard nose all around players who puts his nose to the grinder every shift and produces. I think he can score in this league and play with a physical edge. Can move up and down the lineup and give you the same play game in and game out for the most part.

For sure, don’t know how long he will be out. Definitely thought he would be a help.

For the isles that year didn’t everything revolve around the barzal contract?

Agree. Brassard will provide what he was signed for.

My biggest worry about him is the fact that if he keeps getting injured he may resort to playing a soft game and that won't work for him. He has to get his nose dirty to be the player he needs to be, but human nature will eventually suggest that he will become timid with all the injuries. Did some of these young guys that keep getting injured have injury histories before they were drafted by the Flyers. Just wondering cause I know Patrick had injuries before he was drafted into the NHL. Perhaps they should monitor this more closely in the future.

I have no worry about that. That simply does not show up in his DNA. He'll play the same way when he gets back.

Yeah. Looking at the lineups. I can see Boston tap dancing on our skulls tonight.

I’ve also lost faith Foerster has any chance of making the team, even with injuries. I thought his success in the AHL might carry over to these pre season games but both his usage and play on Tuesday made him an absolute non factor.

Maybe, but not when they are almost 5 million over before the season starts and had to sign other players.

TNT shows the game starting at 7:30, not 7. Anyone else getting this?

What’s the deal with these TNT ABC games. I thought the espn + was all games like NHL TV was, am I not going to get the big network games on espn +?

There's simply no legit to watch all the games with any single source. The best you can do is pair NHL CI and/or ESPN+ w/ a VPN so you can skirt the inevitable blackouts. Put your IP in Europe or something.

(or just go to nhl66.ir)
