Only my starting ask. If no takers then Hamonic has passed the opt out & forced to play or retire if no trade can be consummated. Benning has proven he doesn’t bow to players or give them away. He’s stubborn that way & fine by me.

Growing up in East Van, I had Indigenous friends and teammates. I didn't understand why there was so much pain and dysfunction in some of the families. Now I understand better. Canucks and Aquilini offices are closed today.

Spend 1.3m to the cap with Demers.

Sami Vatanen would've been a decent choice, too bad he signed in Europe.

Do Canucks have the option on his contract then? I know that signed contracts can be voided or pushed back.

If the Canucks can't trade him, can they just say his contract is going to be pushed back and he just doesn't get to play this year.

If teams knows the contract will be terminated, I doubt anyone is going to trade for him knowing they could just sign him or pick him up on waivers.

I like him but he is injury prone but still a solid all around vet.

No option. Hamonic can opt out before tomorrow's deadline or retire if not traded now or after then. If he opts out the Canucks I believe can defer the year or eat only the 2nd year til ufa.

If Hamonic opts out the Canucks have two choices. Let the first year expire or roll it over so his 2 year deal would start next season. Hamonic also has a $1.25m signing bonus due next July, not sure how that would be handled if they roll the contract over.

Speculation that the Canucks could force a termination of the contract if they could produce Eve since that suggested Hamonic agreed to get vaccinated and then changed his mind, but who knows if that exists.

They have two options, suspend him for one year or toll his contract ahead one year where he’ll still have the two years remaining.

Yeah, I just want sure if the bonus would get pushed back a year - to the second year of the deal - or paid out in 2022.

It will be yes.

Hamonic does help the defence but Miller might fight him over not being vaccinated. Might create turmoil in the dressing room.

Twitter also has the Petey and Hughes contracts going up in AAV every half hour now it seems.

Yes, but if he opts out AND the Canucks till the contract so that it technically starts next year, does the bonus also get pushed back a year?

Canucks should keep him and make him work out on his own and train and eat and dress and miss most of his salary because of restrictions so he only gets part of his salary . Maybe then he will quit. He would only qualify for part of the games and Canucks would get cap relief on the games he does not qualify.

What about the group that thought Petey was going to get 9 x 8 years.

If I remember correctly no one here guessed correctly.

- VANTEL

I don't know that I saw anyone say they thought Petey would get that. Several people, including myself, said that's what they would like to see, however.
