7.75 for Hughes and 7.7 for Petey are decent numbers. Hopefully that will also help keep Boeser's and Horvat's numbers down a little. Still think they'll end up trading or letting JTM walk.

Wonder how Green is going to shake down the practice lines now...

Solid signings.
Funny that the sky didn’t fall (again)

I dunno about practice, but the top 9 seems set.
4th line a bit of a mess atm with Sutter and Motter on the IR

With Hamonic MIA, we definitely have a gap to fill on D.
I was never a fan of his, but he filled a roll.

TG has been running the Pod - JTM - Garland line pretty consistently, maybe he'll try it out a bit more. Would give lots of options in the season. But yes, would be great to deal for a better RHD now..

Hoglander-Petey-Boes
Pearson-Horvat-Chiasson/Gadj/Lockwood
Podkolzin-JTM-Garland
Gadjovich-Dikinson-Gusiepe
Lockwood

OEL-Poolie
Hughes-?Colin Miller?
Rathbone-Myers
Hunt-Schenn

Don't love Chiasson taking a spot from a younger guy with upside they'd have to push through waivers, but if he's that much better than them then he's earned it.

What, no OJ?
I agree, OJ needs to spend as much time on Abby’s top pairing as possible. A full year of playing top minutes will do him some good.

Maybe if they don't want to add Chiasson (doesn't PK, need money to add RHD), they bump Dikinson up with Bo as JB has talked about how he can "score more", and use Petan or someone in the 4C role until Sutter gets back.

Maybe OJ needs to get mean and get out of Greens doghouse? Green likes to have a players there constantly it appears lol

It will be yes.

Hamonic does help the defence but Miller might fight him over not being vaccinated. Might create turmoil in the dressing room.

Twitter also has the Petey and Hughes contracts going up in AAV every half hour now it seems.

So worst case scenario is probably 3 pre season games for Petey/Hughes Tuesday v Kraken and Thursday/Saturday v Oil. If they are flying today they likely don’t play. Tearing/medical Saturday - maybe they practice and play Sunday but Green typically likes guys to ease in…

Would be hilarious if Green held a two man 40’s skate on Saturday

Super happy the kids signed but again man oh man JB needs a player he just signed to opt out or be traded to fit them in. Just simply mind blowing

Not he doesn't... the Canucks have about 17 mil in cap space when you factor in going over with LTIR for Ferland. Both Petey and Quinn come in at around 16.

I would actually respect Green more if he made them do it. Same treatment for everyone. Would be even better if he got the rest of the team to just watch them.

Imagine the uproar if one of them ended up with a groin injury from the bag skate.

Yeah but ferland can't be placed until day 1 of the season correct? Meaning at least one of the kids would miss all of camp. I could easily be wrong. Happy they are signed

Seeing Hughes is signed for 6 years and Poolman a stay at home young Dman is signed for 4 . I would look at them as a pairing

Over the last two years I always thought Myers looked best with Edler so maybe OEL being similar to Edler might be a fit also.

That would be one mil over before regular season with a 22 man roster. If Benning kept one of Hughes or Pettersson off the roster to comply with the cap then he should be fired.

You can also be 10 % over the cap until the start of the season. Right now 30 % of the league are over the cap .

This doesnt apply to camp and preseason. All they need to do is paper a low salary for day 1.

I wouldn't expect Miller to continue at C now that Petey is back. They want D1ckinson playing more important minutes than 4C, and Horvat needs to be in the top 6.

Already moved on to the next impending tragedy 😂

I hope they give Gadj a shot as well. Let him make some mistakes but work on his game in the NHL. He and OJ likely make it through waivers but hard to tell.

Is Demers an option at league min?
