I'm expecting both Petey and Hughes to have a bad/slow start this year due to time missed with no training camp and some missed practices. People expecting big things better temper their expectations because Boeser missed training camp getting his deal done and had a down year for him and expect EP/QH to have the same. - DariusKnight
I wouldn’t be surprised to see them have a poor start, I just wanted to curse at Don |

Everyone was hyped on QH after his 1st year and he had a down turn last year, as expected.
I guarantee he'll have a strong bounce back year this year and quiet the chicken littles.

I really hope so, the Canucks need offense from the “D” if they’re going to be successful. |

No doubt their starts will be slower, but from what I have seen around here, both players have been training pretty steadily throughout the summer. Someone said Petey was in the gym a ton, and that Hughes has been skating with the Wolverines program for a while now. I think it won't take long for either of them to get up to speed.

I’ve seen more Kraken hats on the island this year than Canucks hats. Not surprising because most Canucks fans are cowards that hide under rocks unless they’re doing well these days. Hopefully these signings help recapture some of the ship jumpers however, you could project to be a very decent team this year. |

In Central Saanich/North Saanich where I live, a ton of the old people are wearing Vegas merch. I have no idea why, but I see a ton of hats and jerseys in my neighborhood. Have yet to see anywhere wearing Kraken gear. |

It isn't getting up to speed that's the issue, it's the missed practices, getting comfortable with the new systems/assignments/players. Had they been here for training camp that wouldn't be an issue. |

Hammer didn’t opt out according to CJ, and doesn’t think he will. But he does have until midnight. How does this work out? Does he then just not report to camp? Does he retire? Can he just play the games in the states? With Charter air, can you do that? Weird situation. Do you want him back even? |

I don't know about 'hype', more potential.
I was pretty meh on Brogan myself.
I never doubted the QH and EP40 would be re-signed.
Just glad they get some preseason reps in.
I wouldn't want the distraction to drag on and have a Nylander type of start.

ya I wasnt big on Rafferty. He would impress for 1 game or two then look like a chicken with his head cut off after that.

100% agree. They will have some catching up to do, especially with king taking over the PP and shaw working with the defense. |

The baby boomers all jumped ship to the knights? Ouch. To be fair, right now I see more Blue Jays gear than anything else Codes. Which is awesome. Go Jays!! If they don’t make the playoffs, expect the Island Kraken gear to really come out. |

It must be cause vegas has been a elderly vacation destination as much as it is a young persons for a while now. I agree with the Jay's hats, they are everywhere. |

That sure didn't go well for him. Petey and Hughes are very talented players. Just hope they have learned some lessons from last season. |

Rick Dhaliwal has
"No update on Hamonic - both sides continue to monitor the situation"
What does he mean by both sides?
Canucks being one side and his own agent the other side? |

i'd assume they are monitoring the trade front and if any team (south of the border) would take a flyer on him.
When is the cutoff for making a decision/sitting out the year?
