Jonny.

Rangers are putting him on waivers.

He used to play for LA.

Been bouncing around last couple seasons. Is pretty much PPG AHL player.

Younger, larger version of Dowling pretty much.

D-Day is tomorrow, one way or another, whether or not Hamonic decides to play or opt-out or retire will be when EP and QH sign. I don't think it matters either way what happens because I'm pretty sure what they sign for will be for whatever capspace is available with Hamonic's contract counting anyways. You can't negotiate a deal based of potential extra cap space being available because that would screw you up big time if Hamonic does indeed decide to play.

I'm thinking both sign bridges for 3 years with EP getting 7.5 x 3 and QH getting 6.75 which would leave us some wiggle room with LTIR and able to maybe get a D to replace Hamonic if he does opt out.

If they are holding out to see if they can also get their hands on the money needed for a D replacement... that's not going to go down very well. There's enough money to pay them what they deserve now...

Thanks Carol! We will likely never know for sure, but I bet if Benning had offered bridge deals that were around, but higher than, Barzal (Pettersson) and McAvoy (Hughes) back in the summer of 2020 he could have gotten deals done.

$5.85 for Hughes would have seemed like a huge over payment at the time, but would be a slight overpayment now.

$7.8 for Pettersson, same thing.

Thankfully we’ve got Tanner locked up though!

I’m glad he waited, makes him look like the intelligent manager he is

I think it’s Sean McIndoe wrote a column for The Athletic about “why the bottom 10 teams will be good”. Basically making a case for each of the worst third of the league. Are the Canucks on that list?

I’ll check it out.

Has Brad Hunt actually outperformed Olli Juolevi so far in preseason?

Horvat and Miller are only signed for one more year after this one, may as well trade Petey and Q. Hughes and start over again.

“Jack Rathbone belongs in the NHL.

That's something Conor Garland already knew: "He went third round and looks like he could be a steal. He's so good.”

#Canucks”

He actually went in the 4th round out of the USHL in 2017, Judd Brackett’s stomping grounds before he became Director of Amateur Scouting for the Canucks

Centre heavy looking draft. Maybe find Petey's replacement.

Rather sign EP and QH on a 1 year bridge deal then dump them at the TDL (along with Boeser) for a boatload of picks/prospects/young players and then tank hard next year for Bedard...

Be careful what you wish for, if Horvat and Miller walk this team could be headed for another “re-tool on the fly”.

Actually he went in the 4th round out of the United States High School prep league. Weisbrod called him an "elite skater" and Brackett said "he can hammer the puck"

I am waiting to see how this plays out . When Pearson signed last year right after he scored 3 or 4 more goals in the last few games and he just scored again last game.

For the record I did not like the signing but will laugh if he is a 20 goal guy this year.

His skating is NHL level and his stocky frame will allow him to be successful on 50/50 puck battles along the boards. Great pick!!

If Juho Lammikko goes on waivers by the Florida Panthers. I sure hope Benning's Eastern scouts are paying attention and Van makes a claim for him.

With Benning, this time it will be a "Fly on the re-tool".

Excellent 4th round pick.

Drake Batherson was also a very good 4th round pick about 25 picks later than Rathbone.
