Playing the nhl lineup tonight. Would like to see a kid play in Nate’s place. We know what he is/brings. - Peter Richards They want to get a win to quiet the rising stream of concern. Doesn't really matter to me. My concerns have already been founded. None of their young forwards appear ready for NHL duty.

yes rather have seeler. Morin fills no role. He is getting paid 750k to sit. He will not ever be in the lineup on a regular basis. He is a dime dozen 7th dman. Same as seeler. If Morin wasn't a 1st rd pick no one would give him the time of day.
Totally disagree on Morin vs Seeler. Morin fills a 7th D role well. He's a solid physical defenseman in limited minutes (better than Haag in my opinion) and he can punch faces when needed. I do recognize that Seeler is a good fighter too but he's worse defensively. Would be good for Morin to get a 2-week conditioning stint in the AHL when he returns so he can get some minutes.
We agree on TL and that they haven't drafted well enough at ctr or filled that role externally.

I’m just up the road in Harrisburg. We either go to the tomato pie cafe near bass pro shops or the vault in Middletown.
I much prefer mom and pop local places. |

Zac Rinaldo is getting paid to do nothing this season. That's nice - Bob Habib

I know this sounds crazy but I’d take Zac Rinaldo back over Nate Thompson. |

Rinaldo is younger, can skate, physical and pisses opposing teams off. I miss having a guy or a collective group of guys who can do this. Rinaldo’s real issue to me while he was here outside of not being the best hockey player was, he was reckless. |

Thompson is physical, too. But not reckless. Kill penalties, which Rinaldo flopped at when tried. Thompson has played over 800 NHL games. Rinaldo will finish with far less than half that total. Yes, he can skate fast. |

Would it be possible to shoot both Thompson and Rinaldo into the sun?
Perhaps with Vigneault taking up the extra seat? |

For a team looking to "contend" having Frost and Brassard as your 2nd/3rd line center does not instill a lot of confidence imo. It is not strong in any way until proven otherwise.
Captain Clode has seen his production decline the last 3 years. Will it continue?
JVR had a little resurgence last season. Prior to that his production declined the last 3 years. What do they get this year?
Oscar we have to wait and see. Just an unfortunate situation.
The 4th line is the leftover players. Is that how you want to create a 4th line? Scot Laughton scored like 2 points his last 25 games or so.
You can use the If scenario for any player. Rather not have to hope on an "if" proposition.
So imo there is more than 1 question mark. - hello it's me 2050
I get what you're saying but I don't have those same question marks. Brassard has sole hockey left in him. I think this signing rejuvenated him, at least for this year which is what we paid for with him.
Frost will take a few games to get comfortable being hit again. That shoulder injury is probably still on his mind while he is out on the ice. Until he finds his game he is my only question mark.
Your not Roo is playing in a contract season so I expect him to play well either way.
JVR isn't old enough that his game is falling off. In fact I feel he has found a new gear to his game the last season and a half and I expect to see that again this season
Laufhts got bounced up and down the line up and nobody and che sorry last season. For many seasons before that laughton has been solid. Again, not a question mark for me.
We all view this team differently and we all have expectations that we want to see happen. Given last season I completely see how someone could have questions about this season but I view it as an anomaly bc I saw how well they played on 19/20. I try not to look to the last bit I feel that 19/20 was more on par with what this team is capable of as compared to the abomination that was last season.
My flyers glasses are so bright that I think they may have orange glitter in them today |

Interesting. I'm curious what team(s) do you see the Flyers finishing ahead of in the division. I'd like others' opinions, also |

It is so hard to predict without seeing how we look once we gel and find chemistry. I'd say NYI are ahead of us as is Carolina. Washington is going to see a drop off soon and I hope it's this season |

I will grant you the lineup is not as impressive as we would have hoped, but I disagree there are many question marks, in fact its a pretty veteran laden lineup with very few question marks, i.e. you pretty much know what you are going to get here and its still better than last year!
Look, this team has already been hit with some serious injuries. Two young players that were expected to make the team and really pep up the bottom 6 (Allison and Laczynki) are gone for the year, we lost Hayes (our 2C) and Morin (7th defenseman that adds a much needed physical element) for at least the first 12 games, and our younger players are just not ready yet. Thus we have to force players up in the lineup where they will be less effective. We just have to hope we can tread water for the first part of the season and then start to click as the season goes along and players start coming back. - jd250
Where are you getting this information from that Allison is done for the year?

Allison was ready for NHL duty before getting hurt. Lacynzski was knocking on the door. If Frost isn't ready for the start of the season, it won't take him long to get back up.

Oh I’m aware of the difference between the two players. I just miss having a guy who can stir the pot. It’s actually pretty impressive that Rinaldo has made an NHL career for himself. |

How is Morin solid? He's a half-baked prospect -- inexperienced, undisciplined, not entirely dependable positionally and has a weakness handling the puck. Off the ice, the kid's got a great attitude, amazing perseverance and a super work ethic... but they need somebody who can be counted on between the whistles and that's not him. |

I feel bad for the kid with all his injury woes, but he has never looked very impressive to me at the NHL level. I guess some folks like the fact that he's so big, but what good does that really do in today's speedster game?

I read Allison is most likely getting surgery and will be out several months, if true a real bummer! |

I thought Morin looked pretty good last year, better than I expected. He is a heart and soul guy, and adds that physical element that this team desperately needs. I think if the guy can ever stay healthy and play some steady minutes, he can be a good bottom pairing defenseman that can really help on the PK. |

I'm not on Facebook, its not a reference for me. Charlie O’Connor of The Athletic reports that the high-ankle sprain is believed to be quite serious and that it could be several months before he is able to return. |
