Who the hell okayed that? I mean, it is Prince Albert, but still...
Edit: apparently very short lived: https://www.cbc.ca/sports...ey-discontinued-1.6198071 - NewYorkNuck
Not that short lived because it had to be designed, go through team and league approval, fabricated (and I’m sure it was not just one made), and then announce to public. That takes time.
The kicker, the team tried to use that illustration as their mascot in 2014 and pulled it then for being insensitive. Did they think society in 2021 had became less sensitive?

Are you seriously calling me an idiot? You are an adult (maybe) that identifies with a scrotum. You aren’t even a Canucks fan yet you pollute carols blog on a Saturday night. You need to get a (frank)ing life. Do everyone a favor and (frank) off and hurl yourself off a bridge. - CanuckDon
Excellent. Very well put. 👍 |

Did they get that from team America?
- boonerbuck
It does look like something out of Team America. I guess in Saskatchewan that’s their idea of inclusion. |

you're talking to a fanbase that last week was up in arms to the point of wanting physical retribution against QH's brother for saying that the canucks were a "bad" team last year.
"nice" change in direction is an understatement. let's start with the small stuff before we go fixing all of society. |

Short lived as in announced and then immediately pulled. Not sure you read the article, but it's the logo from an old design and they were using it as a "throwback" jersey.. not defending anything |

If you like Petan, or Dries or Lockwood better in one of the 10-15 F spots sure.

Rathbone Hunt

Without Hamonic, this is a bit of a mess. There are really no good RS options to even things out. Someone (all of them) will be playing out of their depth.
Demko
Halak
I dunno, is that a playoff roster? Maybe in the Pacific. |

Would never suggest you were defending. I know your position by now.
I was agreeing with you about it not being recognized as insensitive along the way to the public announcement. Someone along the way should have said “you know, this may have been appropriate in 1971 but not so much now”.
There was a lot of time to contemplate the reaction.
Hopefully the franchise won’t try and use it again in 2030. |

Ya, can't believe someone along the line didn't think "Hey, we used that as our mascot and people were upset... wonder what will happen now?" |

If they had simply put “Open Sesame” as text under the image it would have been fine. |

I gotta believe JB is working the phones to see what RHD are available. Cale Fleury is (was?) available, but he doesn't really move the needle right now. Collin Miller out of Buff might be a somewhat inexpensive option..? |

I think, based on a very small sample, he needs a bit of time before playing NHL games. They should send him to Abbotsford to work with the coaches there for a month or two. Bring him back around Christmas and send someone else down then. The team can’t afford to be teaching on the fly if they want to make the playoffs. They need to be winning right away and even though Podkolzin might eventually be a more talented player, he’s not there yet. |

If it comes down to that, it's best. He still has a few opportunities to prove otherwise still.

I dabble. Who do you think recommended that the Canucks put the word Vancouver on the front of the jerseys so Chinese tourists would buy so many of them? |
