No waiver claims by Canucks, today at least.

Agree. Allegations are nothing new but a bit of proof would have been nice. Especially these days with so much misinformation out there.

Someone on Twitter brought up an interesting angle regarding AV, Canucks, and Rick Rypien. Was painkillers being pushed then? Rabbit hole.

That's why I bring up Boogaard. That was a court case so there must be some depositions, records etc.

Since the story kind of went away I'm inclined to believe that they settled with some NDAs. But someone (lawyer/reporter) who wants to dig around should start at least there.

The point being that the league is/was aware and they've done nothing but sweep it under the carpet. And when I say league, I'm including the PA because they are also responsible. Shame.

The ice is slippery? I guess Myers with Rathbone or Juolevi. I actually didn’t mind Juolevi and Myers the few times they were out there together against Calgary.

I know he’s a pipsqueek but having Matt Phillips in the system would be fun. Loved watching him with the Royals.

When he has been worse, he has been far worse than Rathbone as well. Rathbone has had a much better showing this preseason than Juolevi imo. Brad hunt has been better than both though.

Wonder if Hughes and or Pettersson get in the game tonight? Canucks PR has a photo of their water bottles on the bench, like for a practice or morning skate, but they aren’t doing either today…

just like every year, there's going to fluidity on the blueline for the last 6 spot and dealing with inevitable injuries.

i could see them go with hunt at the start. give OJ some games to see how he does. if he doesn't impress after about the 10-15 game mark, they send him down and bring up rathbone.

I think you're right with the above. I think they want to make sure Rathbone is truly ready which is why he is seeing so many exhibition games.

Defensively, I think both hunt and burroughs have been better than juolevi and Rathbone. Rathbone is just such a good skater and brings that offensive element that none of the other defenseman bring.

I think you're right with the above. I think they want to make sure Rathbone is truly ready which is why he is seeing so many exhibition games.

I think the most ideal option would be send Rathbone down to get some top minutes in the AHL since he doesn't need waivers, and trade OJ in a package for a RHD. OJ has just fallen down the depth chart, and once Rathbone is ready OJ will be useless. Get some value out of him while you can
