There was some goods in the game. Thought they played more up to what we’d like to see. Still not a full roster & a mean nothing game. Prospects & support players have 3 games left to impress.
I'm not sure Green will trust and/or play the kids enough.
Meaning, they might be better off in Abby.
I could see:
Miller EP Boeser
Pearson Bo Garland
Hog Dlcky Chiasson
MacEwen Petan Gadjovich
Guisippe, Highmore.
Pod to AHL
Sutter to replace Petan eventually
And motte to replace Mac.
Defence is a bit of a dogs breakfast atm. - dbot
Haven't heard of any Garland - Bo time through practices or preseason... I still think they're taking a long look at Miller at center. Also don't think MacEwen has done anything to earn a starting spot, he might even be able to pass through waivers. If Pod does start in the AHL and they decide to roll with Miller at center, could go:
Hoglander EP Boeser
Pearson Bo Chiasson
Dikison JTM Garland
Guisippe Petan Gadjovich
The forward depth is much improved, TG's blender is going to be working overtime this season

Green likes having more PK'ers in the lineup, I believe that helps the odds of guys like Highmore and Dowling and hurts Petan and Gadjovich

I figure once Petey rejoins, they'll try it.
I suppose if JTM was facing lesser competition, it could work.
Not sure he'd be happy with the ice time as a 3C tho.

That'd have to be the thinking of it.. They have Bo match up against top lines, then the other team matches against either Petey or JTM, and whichever line doesn't get that matchup has more to impact.
They talked last year after Petey went down about how JTM was getting too much time. I think if they spread things out a little more, coupled with PP1 time, his minutes wouldn't take a huge hit.

True, the team is severely lacking PKers without Sutter and Motte...
Glad Green is taking a good hard look at Pearson and Hoglander on Bo's wing. We really don't know what we have there...
Meanwhile, Garland still hasn't had a look there 4 games into the preseason. Not even in practice. Or Podz. - boonerbuck
"Why isn't Green keeping lines together so they develop chemistry??"
"Why isn't Green rotating people around so we can see who works where??"
While I agree they should be testing some things out, there's a whole lot of whining about preseason and practice. Can't wait until you're whining about lines in-season
