I am with you brother.. Chytil does nothing for me and IMO has been in the league long enough to know what you have in him - mrn22
Yeah good idea, give up on 21 year old because he has been in the League for three seasons. You guys act like getting a 2nd line center is sooooo easy. I am sure if there was a deal out there that wasn't asking for both Lundqvist and Schnieder, Drury would have made a deal. I mean Dvorak cost a 1st and a Second, would you have been willing to pay that for a 25-year-old center who hasn't scored more than 40pts in his career?

I still can't believe Drury did nothing to address the center position this summer - TPC
They missed a big opportunity when they didnt go after Dvorak.
Hertl could still be in the mix, but it likely wont happen until December depending on how the team is playing.
I also would like to see the 3 team trade we made up here with NYR-VGK-BUF which lands us Karlsson and maybe Reilly Smith. I think this would leave the Rangers in the best possible position. Long term #2 C, rental veteral RW, pair of guys VERY familiar with Gallant's system. |

I was waiting for someone to come out of the woodwork's and whine about Chytil's age, yadda yadda. Hes going on his fourth year in the league. If there is still no improvement in his game then we got what we got and its time to move on.
Prior to the 2018-19 season, would you have traded a 1st and a 2nd for Tomas Hertl? |

I think they should have made that deal for Dvorak. Maybe they made an offer and Arizona picked the Canadiens offer. I watched some of the MTL preseason games and Dvorak looked great. Has a little bit of everything. |

Thats exactly why I wanted him. Hes a swiss army knife with the potential for more. |

First time GM in the league, being a former player and now figuring out that players are as much investments and assets as they are objects. |

So much this. I'm OK with Dvorak, but let's make no bones about it, offensively Strome has been one of the best 2C in this league since his arrival to the team. If we are going to trade major assets for a center, I want that guy to be better than Strome. I'm just not sure Dvorak fits that bill.

Apparently Krav didn’t go with the team on the “team bonding” trip. Any other player I would say no big deal, but for him, don’t want him feeling isolated and then sitting in the press box opening night. Hopefully he’s learned from last year and can self motivate. - TC88
Any reason why? |

Agreed. It's easy to speculate nothing was done when there were no trades completed. But I doubt he completely ignored it. Most likely scenario there was just nothing to be done/available. Can't trade with a team that doesn't want to trade.
Also, Chytil, IMHO, is mis-characterized as a center. I believe that is his issue. He is not up for center responsibility. Develop him closer to a power forward winger and see how he goes. |

They said he has a minor lower body injury. Feel like it would have been good for him to be around the other guys even if he can’t fully participate. I’m sure they wanted him back getting treatment. On a positive note, the kid actually speaks solid English. Was very impressed by his interview last week. |

Because not every team in the league has a Panarin for him to center. Lets not act all oblivious to the fact that Strome's numbers took a huge boost once Panarin got here. |

Ive been saying this from the get-go. However, our problem is we have no space on the wings, especially not on the LW where he would normally be. |

Not sure who else has listened to Chytils interviews this preseason, but he is clearly lacking awareness. Asked multiple times what he worked on this summer and he says, “my shot” “goal scoring” “working out”. Not one word about face offs until asked directly and his answer was like, “oh that just happens as you get older”. He also says he only wants to play center and has only ever been a center. Not exactly what you want to hear from a kid going into a make or break year. |

They did, but it ignores all of those games before he got here, that Strome also produced. It isn't groundbreaking, but he put up 33 points in 63 games after his trade here... before Panarin.

He just can't be a 3rd line center on a team trying to be a playoff team. Need more jam, defensive awareness and 2 way play from that spot. I was hoping he would be a 2nd line center by this point but he isn't there yet. Just don't know what to do with him. |

Send him down if his production hasn't improved.
If we lose him to waivers, oh well. |

Trade him in the package for Eichel and let Barron play 3rd line center till Eichel heals |

Perfect scenario.
In all seriousness, if Chytil's numbers don't improve I'm fine with Barron earning that spot. Also, isn't that part of why we acquired Goodrow? If Chytil wants to only play center than he had better win draws. |

He is just not the player the Rangers need ultimately. And if he is not flexible in adapting his game, he may play himself out of the league. Oh well. You win some, you lose some. But it would be bad for the Rangers to just keep playing him is "hopes" because he is "young". |

As of now, still being pre-season and things can change, I don't see Chytil as an asset. |
