As of now, still being pre-season and things can change, I don't see Chytil as an asset. - Fenrir
Then sending him to Buffalo for anything is not gonna happen. |

I have to say, not giving up on Chytil but I too don't recall noticing him during any games. I did miss the Devil's game though. Does anyone know what games he's played in? |

I hope Zac Jones keeps playing well, him building his trade value higher will really help the rangers in a potential center trade |

I actually don't think they're gonna make a trade for a C. I think they want to let this marinate for a while. I could be completely wrong though.
While I would have no problem getting excited for Eichel I just don't see it happening at this point. |

Yeah, we won't have room for all these kids. Let's turn one or two into the center we need. |

Me either. My feeling is that we enter the season as we're currently built and see what happens at the TDL. |

I see that too. Doesn't appear they are in a hurry to force a trade. Which I don't fully disagree with. I would not want to reactive/rushed trade.
Also, I am glad if the Eichel trade crap just goes away into never land. I just never saw how he would be the answer. |

While I do think he could be one of the answers I just don't see how he fits salary wise. |

It could work for this year. Rangers have around 9 million in cap space and they would have to trade someone back in the trade to match his 10 million salary. But it would mean Zib won't be resigned after the season. |

Sure but I don't see how adding Eichel and moving on from Zibanejad makes any sense. A healthy Eichel with no back problems I could understand getting younger but not right now. |

Well that's when it comes to opinion. You would have both for this year to try and make a playoff run. And if I had to choose between the two after the year I am taking Eichel long term. Honestly I want no part in paying a 29 year old Zib 8 years for over 9 million per. But that's me |

A lot more than just Zib. We have $9M in space this season. And then next year it all goes to Fox. |

Trading for Hertl, as Ive been and advocate for for a while, has it inherent issue's as well with the salary cap as he needs a new contract also when the season ends. |

Paying Zib a new deal puts them in the same issues with or without Eichel |

Its allllll happening together at the end of the season, theres no 'and then'. Zib, Fox, Kakko and Krav all need extensions. I guess you gotta throw Strome in there also since he could factor into things. |

Its not about a "nice" raise, its just the fact that theyre adding to the already tight budget.
I could see Krav getting a bridge of around 1.65m, Kakko, I think will have a decent year this year and I could see him getting like 2.5-3m.
These raises arent massive, but it all adds up. |

And Strome's and Georgiev's combined 7 million cap hit will be off the books to help counter that. It's tight every year but they will make it work |

I get the concern but I have serious reservations about Eichel long term as well.
Zib has become a monster. I'm not sure he's going to slow down much over the term of the contract unless it is 8 years. I would do 6. |

Im not worried about getting under the cap with those guys. Im also holding out hope that Couturier's contract helps to keep Zib's numbers a bit more grounded.
The problem comes in with where do we go at center if we let Strome go? Do we move up a young center that many feel is out of place up to play with Panarin?
If we trade for a center, we surely will have a much tighter budget to move forward with. |
