Well that's why I said I don't care about the tank and putting out the best players. I don't care about 3yrs down the road if the players keep progressing it shouldn't matter.

It's unfortunate that with as bad as this Sabres team is gonna be next the few years that we may never know Dahlin's true value before this 3 year contract is up.

Looking at Dahlins career so far it’s hard to make a comparison to the player he might become. Is he tracking to become a Phil Housley, a Bobby Orr, an Alex P Vegas or just a Jake the snake Gardiner. At this point Jake is leading.

The Bolts never finished in last place alone. In the '07/'08 season they finished tie with the Kings at 71 points. The following season they finished second last with 66 points. Stamkos (1st overall) and Hedman (2nd) were their only top two picks during their run. The only other top-10 picks they had were Brett Connolly 6th in 2010 and Drouin 3rd in 2013.

I stated within the past couple of weeks that barring an awful camp, UPL will be splitting time here. I think he does still get many games, I have a hard time believing he'll start the year here. The Sabres badly want him to be here, but they probably realize he isn't ready yet based on these games.
