I haven't watched 1 second of the preseason games so far, so honest question...
With 5 goals against in 2 limited appearances, Is UPL playing like a sieve or has the Sabres D been very lacking in their duties as well?
His performances thus far haven't exactly instilled great confidence in the AHL nor NHL over the past 2 seasons before this. - IonSabres
I would have liked him to make a save or two but to be honest they hung him out to dry. It's probably for the best - let him marinate for a few more months in Rochester.

This year is all about individual players. The preseason can show some of that but it's going to be a very long, very bad season. Might as well make lemonade with what we've got, and that's a group of young guys looking to prove something.

Both. He looks very passive in net to me. He's not challenging shooters enough and that can be related to confidence issues - both in himself and the defense

He made a great trade, moving up four spots to select Peterka.
The Sharks should fire Wilson. - Powerslave
Ignore the good, expose the bad.
"But there's so much bad"
No poop. It isn't all bad on a per player basis though. No doubt this team will stink because of bad drafting, bad coaching and bad management. But at the very least, a lot more of our draft picks are getting real NHL looks than ever before since 2004.

So moving up for Peterka makes up for bungling Hall, bridging Reinhart leading to a trade to a division rival, Eichel asking out because we couldn’t make the playoffs his last two years on the job, and leaving 4 high impact forwards to take Quinn ?
Maybe you can share your koolaid with the rest of Western New York and Southern Ontario so that way they have more than 4 people show up to watch the game on Saturday

GMing is obviously easy and Adams is obviously a moron for not following your easy-peasy "GMing For Dummies" plan you've clearly laid out for him.
Christ, Adams, it's all there in black and white on HOCKEYBUZZ!!!

Hippie jam bands and electronic music.
Probably some other poop mixed in. - jochfr
what an odd combination. could be cool.
I thought by the looks of it, it was more of a Hawaiian/West Coast array of bands, kinda in the line of Sublime, Pepper, Dirty Heads, Long Beach Dubs, Supervillians etc.. then I read through a list of almost entirely guys I've never heard of and got real confused by the branding.

Facts mean nothing. - Powerslave
The rear view mirror is only useful in a car. Early returns show Adams could have used his 2020 first round pick more intelligently. He's a talented kid and may take a while. So be it.
I'm not going to sit in a safe space and (frank)ing cry about it though.
Lightning don’t win a cup without Hedman. Drouin turned into Sergachev. The lightning were also sellers at the deadline and turned Kyle Quincey into Andrei Vasilesky.
Kings don’t win without Doughty.
Pens don’t win without Malkin, Fleury. (Not counting Crosby as that was poop luck but he still technically went 1st overall)
Hawks don’t win without Toews and Kane.
Avs have a chance because of Mackinnon, Landeskog, Makar
Leafs have a chance because of Matthews, Marner, Reilly, Nylander.
Florida seemed to get out of the depths of hell and built around Ekblad, - Pegullaville
you're definition of tanking is much different than mine
--between 2nd overall picks doughty and byfield, the kings had two top-5 picks (schenn and turcotte)
--crosby was a lottery pick and without him the chances of even one stanley cup is reduced considerably
--toews was a 3rd overall pick after the team finished 3rd worst overall...kane was picked 1st overall after the hawks finished with the 5th worst record and moved up four spots to no. 1
--avs finished second last in 2010-12 (landy 2nd overall) and 2012-13 mac, 1st)
--leafs "tank with dignity" lands matthews 1st overall but prior to that the never picked higher than 4th-overall (marner)
--the cats picked huberdeau 3rd overall after finishing 3rd-last, barkov 2nd after finishing in last place and ekblad 1st-overall after out-pointing the tanking sabres 66-52
only four teams overtly debased themselves by tanking their entire seasons in an effort to land a franchise savior: the '83/'84 penguins and devils and the '14/'15 sabres and coyotes
