There haggling over a 25,000 dollar surgery, if Jack is so hell bent on the Surgery all that has to be done is Jack signs a waiver about the contract, go have your Surgery. - Buff36
I would think the bigger issue is the $50m contract in the event the surgery fails...including uncertainty down the road.
It's complicated. |

It's not hard to believe. What's hard to believe is another team being willing to trade much for Eichel in the condition he's in.
Is there any hope for progress aside from Eichel having a change of heart and agreeing to the fusion surgery? - kingcong39
I guess there has to be a little hope that they could come to an agreement to let him have his procedure, but it's hard to see it.
Eichel having fusion and playing for this team again is hard to imagine as well.
Would be really curious how KA thinks this plays out to get full value back for him. Maybe that makes a condition-loaded trade the most likely outcome?

Possible regarding a condition loaded trade, but how do you extract a quality prospect from another team? |

Nope he gone.
His targets are down significantly.
Strange how he listens to his coaches about football (cause they are the professionals) But when it comes to listening to a health professional he's got his own ideas.....
People are DUMB - DirtyDan
He's 14th in the league in receptions. |

Yes, but that's why Jack is gonna have to take on some of the risk. I know it's a lot of coin, but if he wants that surgery and will not sway from that decision then sign away your rights to that money if the surgery fails. |

The hard part seems to be finding a way where he isn't left holding all of the risk.

Well it's a shame but it's getting pretty obvious that there are doctors on both sides of the situation that agree with both parties. Unless something changes it doesn't sound like the NHL is gonna step in. So either he goes with something he doesn't want, or he takes the risk and has what he thinks is best for him. |

Rob Ray making fun of the crowd size
 - Hank Balling
I’d love to see that crowd size for a regular season game.
(frank) this team. |

I don't think the risk evaporates entirely with successful surgery.
I believe their is likely some residual risk post surgery as well. Teams medical staff's just don't have data to rely on with respect to the potential of re-injury down the road. Is it likely, probably not...can they quantify it with reason certainty, probably not either.

If you had the resources to get a second opinion from anyone in the US, would you look for for someone less trust-worthy?

How many games before all the heavy lifting Reinhart did in getting Granato this job is exposed?

That's horse crap.
Give Granato the same advantages as every other roster in the league, with star players, NHL caliber goaltending, etc etc first. |

I have been told Granato was the guy though.
He’s going to make this team better regardless of talent. |

Isn’t that where medical arbitration comes in? If there are docs on both sides, it should be heard by an arbitrator, a decision rendered… that’s the contract Jack signed for being a member of the NHLPA. |
