Of course, but Frost did not get enough on it or was not in enough control to make it a true dangerous chance. Look I'm not saying the kid did anything wrong, he hustled up the ice and made something out of nothing, so that is good. I am only saying what he made was not a dangerous chance because he was not able to control the puck, get anything on it and Swayman was in position (good for him) to swallow it up. I also agree based on what I saw last year and this pre-season, plus his track record in college, that Swayman is the real deal. Once he tempers his aggression in terms of knowing when to challenge and when not to, Swayman will be the number 1 in Boston. Don't expect Tuukka to be returning to Boston this year unless Swayman gets injured between now and the new year.

I don't agree that he didn't get anything on it. It was a good shot and a quality chance.

You absolutely implied it based on the last sentence of your post! Let's not back track now.
- jd250

No, you are the guy who implied the possibility of Frost missing. I just commented on the ridiculousness of your post. Don't back track.

It was most surely a dangerous chance no matter how you look at it. He DID get good wood on it and Swayman made a very good save to stop it. Plays like that happen all the time in the NHL and every single one is a dangerous chance.

I just watched the replay again, and we can agree to disagree.

Yes, there is a possibility that Frost will never become a 2C in the NHL and given his draft position and promise, that would be a miss. I am not afraid to admit that this is a possibility, but for some reason you are ... Hmmmm I wonder why?

This is hysterical. What is going to happen if some of the moves that your hero Chuck Fletcher made don't work out? I've never seen so many extremes between your posting before the season and the overreactions from a few pre season games.
- MJL

Same as Ron. He will be replaced.

It is possible Frost is a bust, and the fact that you will not even acknowledge it tells everyone how biased you are and also how far up Hextall's butt you are!

- jd250

Ridiculously absurd nonsense. It's a possibility that any young player could bust. So that means that we should bring that up after a player played 3 pre seasons game and after missing an entire season previously? This is your shortcoming. My stance has nothing to do with who drafted the player and everything to do with being reasonable and using common sense. Your reply here is just petty childish nonsense.

There are no extremes. If Fletcher's moves don't work out, I will not only be extremely disappointed, but I will also be the first one to point it out. I said all along that Fletcher's entire career as a GM will be judged by this off season and I still believe that is true. I am happy with the moves he made, in fact I happy he made moves at all, but extremely happy with the number of moves and the quality of the players he brought in. I think he did a good job and tried his best in a very difficult environment. However, if the moves don't work out, its on Fletcher, no one else.

- jd250

Yes, there is extremes. Before the season, the moves were great, the culture was changed. Love all the moves. A few pre season games played and there is panic in your posts.

But the chances of this happening are low. Already you can see how good Ellis is, and how much better Provorov is because of the chemistry the two have found. We have also seen how well Risto plays the game and what he adds to the team, and we have already seen how much better the PK is when Atkinson is out there. I don't expect these key moves will come back to bite Fletcher.

- jd250

We saw Ristolainen play a recent game against an AHL team. We have years of seeing how Ristolianen played against NHL lineups. We'll see. No where near ready to make an evaluation on the moves.

It's about a proper evaluation of the player at this place in time. Not about everything in the realm of possibilities.

While frost did a couple things well last night. Elliot was impressive and noticeable every time he was on the ice I felt. Cates had a couple descent plays as well.

Desnoyers was lucky he didn't die in that fight. Moore's haymaker went right over his head and I'm pretty sure he didn't duck it on purpose.

There is no panic in my posts. I have been and am still positive and bullish about the off season moves and this team overall. However I am concerned about Frost and what his true ceiling is, and I am concerned the the Bruins B team last night outplayed a lot of Flyers A players for significant stretches of the game. That is called being objective, not panicking nor being overly negative. I'll be honest, if I were coaching the Flyers last night, I would have walked away disappointed, because I believe every game, even pre-season should be won. Winning is addictive, and so is losing. The Flyers won last night in OT, but to me it felt like a loss against a Bruins B team that the Flyers should have dominated from start to finish. Whether that's a good perspective or not, its how I see it.

Ok, time will tell who is right. Like I said, I sincerely hope I am wrong about Frost because if I'm right, its another significant blow to this franchise.

I really like him, I think he is going to be a good bottom 6 forward for us, lots of energy and initiative in his game.

Yes there is. To the point I made a comment about you jumping off the bandwagon last night. They iced how many players that won't even be on the team last night and you're making repeated comments about things that are not good and panicking. They haven't even played a single regular season game yet. Last night in terms of team play is irrelevant and a non factor in outcome for this season. You comments here just reinforce the panic.

So you do admit you think he's a bust. Are you going to accuse me of putting words in your mouth again?

Too early to say he is a bust obviously
Too early for him to play in the NHL obviously

Are there any other questions on this topic or can we move on w our lives?

I think he can play in the NHL right now. May not be the best place for him right now but he can play.

No there isn't! I just explained to you how I look at things, and I would certainly know better than anyone else whether I am panicking or not. Once again you just like to read things into posts so you can start an argument.

Nolan Patrick and Morgan Frost. Drafted the same year. One is a bust. The other gets forever to prove he belongs.
