I think he should skip the season opener to make sure he's fully healthy for this season.

Hoping for an Octo Cup? Habs really have no chance for the Shane Wright sweepstakes you know. It will be interesting to see how low Arizona or Buffalo will stoop to make sure they have the best chance at 1st overall pick. My guess is similar to what Buffalo pulled trying to get McDavid. Perhaps one of the starting goalies will be from some obscure national team, the criteria for landing the job will be a save percentage worse than .500

Yeah I get what you’re saying, needless to say I’m very happy he was able to fully recover |

Are you saying the Sabres are trading for Frederik Ander7en? |

It was hillarious the way Tim Murray traded away or demoted any NHL Goalie in the final two months of that season that had a save percentage above .700. And the look on his face when Edmonton won the draft was about the same as the look on McDavid's face when Connor realized he would not be a Leaf.

Habs will fight for a playoffs spot this season. We're not great but nowhere near as bad as Buffalo and Arizona.
Even Detroit, after losing Vrana, shouldn't look that great.
I'm just hoping the Habs fall on the "good" side of the line so we can try for another run.

I agree, they will miss Weber for sure, and the new cross-checking standards might not be a good thing for the Habs.

Do you believe the habs can overtake Tampa, Florida, Boston, or Toronto? |

Sabres worked very hard to get Jack Eichel and are now working very hard to completely devalue his worth.
Meanwhile, in a dorm in Ann Arbor, Owen Power cries himself while hiding his Leafs pyjamas under his pillow. |

The 59 points in 56 games the Habs had last season against arguably a weaker schedule translates to about 86 points which might get you into the playoffs in an off year but I think it will take 90 to 93 points to get into the playoffs this year.

We missed the playoffs with a 96 points season 3 years ago.

Yeah I won’t be shocked that whoever gets the 7th and 8th spots will be whoever is sitting at fourth in their division |

I'm hoping for a bruins falloff after losing a few key players over the years.
I think Tampa and Florida are solid and probably out of reach.
The Leafs as well unless their goaltending completely collapses which is possible but unlikely.
And since I kept Campbell in my keeper's league with salary cap... I kinda hope he does well.

I’d like to think about Boston that way as well but I think it will be what kind of year Hall has that will be the difference. If he plays a good year I have a hard time believing the bruins won’t make the post season |

I doubt Power is thrilled at the prospect of spending his career with that tire fire of an organization. Wright may well pull something like Lindros did years ago. When that happened I thought Lindros was a dirt bag for pulling that. In retrospect, Quebec was much better run than either of the Coyotes or Sabres by miles. That said my thoughts are a little different now. I would think it would be a shame to have a player of this caliber ruined by an incompetent team. They have toyed with the idea that no team should have the 1st overall more than once in five years. It's long overdue IMO. |
