Yeah... imagine him going back to his MVP season level.

Makes me sick.

Finally playing for a franchise where not everything is leaned on him. Look out.

I’d like to think about Boston that way as well but I think it will be what kind of year Hall has that will be the difference. If he plays a good year I have a hard time believing the bruins won’t make the post season

- Dozzer

Charlie Coyle is currently their 2C... that can't be a good sign.

Somehow he'll have an unreal year though with Hall, amirite/amiwrong?

It made me watch baseball again.

Something I hadn't done since 2004.

he's going to a team where he's the 4th best option.. It could work well for him.. In Buffalo, he was going nowhere.. Everyone focused on him and Eichel

I doubt Power is thrilled at the prospect of spending his career with that tire fire of an organization. Wright may well pull something like Lindros did years ago. When that happened I thought Lindros was a dirt bag for pulling that. In retrospect, Quebec was much better run than either of the Coyotes or Sabres by miles. That said my thoughts are a little different now. I would think it would be a shame to have a player of this caliber ruined by an incompetent team. They have toyed with the idea that no team should have the 1st overall more than once in five years. It long overdue IMO.
- winsix

I remember Lindros being in an interview in Quebec a few years ago saying the reason he (and his parents) didn't want to play for the Nordiques was mostly because of Marcel Aubut.

They had already hear rumors about the kind of man he was and didn't want him in that environement.

Aubut was later convicted of sexual harassment in the workplace.

I wonder if my kid, who's a huge jays fan, will turn into a rays/expos fans or we'll have a inside the family rivalry going on.

Fun either way.

His linemates will do all the rough work and open up space for him which will help someone at his talent level I’m willing to bet

They've got by with most of their offence from the first line for years. Tayor Hall makes that second line a reasonable offensive threat. I think if they have a vulnerability it is in net. I'm not convinced Ullmark is a great replacement for Rask.

Was he convicted or only accused of? Isn't he a practicing lawyer?

He was convicted, fired from the COC notably.

The proof was pretty overwhelming.

No idea where he is now.

I just have feeling Atlantic (other than TB) will be less overwhelming this year. I don’t have a firm handle on Florida’s moves and I think Bruins will lose a few steps. Still too early to know how Leafs’ moves will shake out.

Yes it will. I was a big Expos fan before the Jays came to town. Still pissed at Loria for what he did to the Montreal fans.

You’re not quite correct

He stepped down both the COC and his job, he wasn’t fired nor was he ever proven guilty in court. Unless it happened in the last 4 years, the most recent thing I’ve found is from 2017

That's not an angle I had ever heard of before - crazy if true! I wonder if that narrative may be a bit of revisionist history? There was history of Lindros refusing to sign with the Soo only a few years prior which always lead me to believe that they felt they could do the same thing in the NHL.

Pretty crazy if true though. How well known was Aubut's sexual harassment ways known in hockey circles back in the day? Brutal that some of this stuff was just swept under the carpet.

I have a feeling it is an off year for Tampa. Repeating as champs is tough, three-peat? I doubt it very much. As usual they are as tight to the cap as a bull's ass at fly time. And now they have Seabrook on LTIR, so its not so easy to hide another 10 or 12 Million there - they might try, I doubt the league lets it go again.

Coyle is not a reasonable 2C. The Bruins have got to be actively looking at replacing the Krejci sized hole they currently have.

Even with a credible 2C I don't see Hall being a ppg player anymore.

I'm feeling your assessment. Tampa is still strong but they aren't quite as formidable. Florida has Sammy Bennett but will he regress hard and is Verhaege for real? Boston I think will be fighting for the final playoff spot -- Ullmark is going to have to prove he's something special for the team to challenge for the top spot, methinks.
