I can't stand how they're acting like calling cross-checking as a penalty is a new f'n thing. Seriously? It has ALWAYS been there. Stop pretending it's something new.

He is but still gonna have to deal with patin the piper if he is gonna dish it out

This. He's a solid player, but a couple of those hits were borderline. Someone is going to make him pay if he keeps that stuff up.

Noooo. Kase has looked pretty good!

Has some offensive upside and can kill penalties. I think he is a great fit for 3RW with #64.

- mjones242

He’s not terrible but I’m not too big of a fan tbh

I’d rather keep Engvall in the lineup personally

Yeah exactly. They did the same thing on interference/obstruction and slashing too though.

How big are chances Gusev makes the team?

Kase is solid. I think between the two Kase is more experienced and sound defensively but can still chip in on offence.

I think Engvall is more offence talented, plus more durable.

Guess depends on the spot you are putting them in really

For me Id rather Engvall with JT and Nylander. He was solid about the net and can keep up and finish.

Kase with Bunting and Kampf might be a pretty solid degensive line with ability to score and burn you.

But then where do you put Kerfoot? Unless Kampf to line 4c and Kerfoot centers the third

I’m seeing bunting being put onto the 4th line from the website that shares anticipated lines.

Mik on line 2, kerfoot on the wing with Kampf and Kase

With Engvall being the 13th guy

Opinion seems to be that only Josh Ho-Sang has a chance for that 50th contract.

I think Gusev probably doesn't want to play for the Marlies - which limits his options of getting a contract. He's not done anything to displace anyone who is in the mix for a spot and already has a contract. He's looked ok at times - like noticeable even - but just not good enough to warrant an NHL roster spot.

Ideally - for his sake - he has done enough to get noticed by another organization who can use him.

Hmmmm. Its very very interesting. There is a lot of ability to shuffle the deck and play with the roster and lineup. Thats for sure.

But the leafs don’t even have 100 grand in available cap space.

Signing him will require a move of some sort

Nice 👍

I have a 1095 from a guy named Scott Fox. He makes some sick knives

He does make some nice ones... My dream knives? Right now come from Majime Knives.

We're at 47 contracts. Ho-Sang, however, has let it be known that he wants to play in the organization and if they want him, he's willing to earn his spot - going so far as to say he'd play in the ECHL if necessary.

If he signs for under $950k, you can assign him to the Marlies (he'd have to clear waivers), and the entire cap hit would be buried.

It doesn't feel right agreeing with a dirty, dirty Habs fan. But methinks you're right.

That would be the idea. If he looks close to some of the others, put him in and take out someone who makes more.

3rd line = Kerf-Kampf-Kase
