Martin is still there and Chara is as mean as they come so I'm not really worried about any team pushing the isles around. This team is deep as all 4 lines can play and hurt you where it counts, the scoreboard

Agreed. Only things that concern me are the 13 road games to start the season and not having Varlamov out of the gate. If they can manage a winning record in those games (and Sorokin continues his strong play) then I think they will be positioned well. Especially with the excess home games they will accumulate and the excitement of playing in the new arena.

when I am bored at work and flipping around trying to find something other than news... I always seem to end up on women's beach volleyball. It's very competitive.

#Isles are about to board their bus back to LI. Last preseason game is Saturday in Bridgeport vs. NYR.

Bad luck for Golyshev, who needed another chance to impress #Isles coaching staff. Panik/Johnston were due to play as well in the battle for an extra forward spot.

Maybe the funniest part was Trotz talking about translators for Golyshev. He said with a wry smile that Komarov claims to speak Russian well, not sure if he really does.

That was pretty funny... also amazing how well Sorokin has gotten at English. Watching some MLB players that have been in U.S. for decades and need a translator. These kids are good to go in a year.

I don't think the building being done on time will be an issue. Getting people to work in the Arena is going to be the issue imho.

THE ATHLETIC: Scott Powers expects the Chicago Blackhawks will place forward Alex Nylander on waivers. He cites a league source saying he’s heard the Arizona Coyotes might put in a claim if Nylander hits the waiver wire.

What is the knock on this kid? Would it be worth a draft pick to grab him?

Trotz says Lamoriello "isn't quite finished assembling the roster." #Isles may be looking for landing spots in a trade for some of their extra guys. Rosters have to be set on Monday at 5 p.m.
