give Savard some time. remember it took a few weeks/months before Chiarot felt comfortable when he first joined the team. I'm not too worried about the vets.

oh I agree a PMD would be nice, but it is what it is. Chiarot is on his last contract year, maybe next season. |

Gotta hope some of those prospects on defense ends up paying off in the next few years or the team will need to go chasing ufas/trades again to patch things up.

Savard says he's got difficulty adjusting to the system. He'll get there. People saying he's the next Karl Alzner are jumping the gun way too soon.... |

Yes rolling 2 pairs and play the other one 5 minutes a night.
Then saying stuff like "I don't get it, our D looked faster at the beginning of the season..." |

Thought he looked good during the playoffs...can't believe that's the case. Alzner looked like poop even before they signed him. |

True.
Although it's a fact Savard is also slowing down as a player. So while I'm very positive about him being here, I hope he doesn't lose another step in the next 2 years.
It worked with Sergachev, but Sergachev is pretty mobile and.... well good.
I feel like making him play with Romanov so he can be the steady, calming influence next to him would be the best way to use him. |

Vets don't give a poop about pre-season, especially Ds. You think Savard wants to go in first in the corner with a carreer AHLer trying to make a name for himself taking a run at him or block shots? |

Could be, short summer, I bet alot of the guys didn't work out much and just took the time to recuperate. |
