I don't think this is as black and white as you think it is.
- boonerbuck

Definitely not black and white, it's about more than just offense otherwise Gadj would've gotten a longer look here.

Skating, PK agility, experience, defensive play is where he lost too much ground to his competition. He's a decent offensive player for sure.

Green may want to limit Bo's PK time so he doesn't wear down. Miller can PK but I don't think Green wants him as a full time PK'er either. So a couple of other options to go along with Pearson and Richardinson are needed

For what 20 games or so? I don't think you should build an organization based on a temporary lack of PK's ...

When you have Alex Edler and Tyler Myers on your team, you certainly have to make the PK a big part of your roster building

We're really upset about a 22 year old that likely never amounts much more than as a 12/13th forward or AHL replacement for injuries? I mean, yeah, it sucks but he was exposed in the E-draft and Seattle chose Kole Lind (and then waived him themselves) over Gadj. I mean really, losing a depth forward that probably doesn't even end up as an NHL regular, and crying about it is like a kid crying because his parents got him Froot Loops instead of Chocolate Frosted Sugar Bombs.

in an 82 game season with playoff aspirations, I think you have no choice but to factor that in

I think his skating was fine . He worked on it and it never looked like an issue this camp. He should have won the spot over Petan but then again he never played for Travis in junior.

Dries ? Really ?

lol no i know, im just using the past as example. Edler was good for 1 or 2 minors a game, and Myers is always good for the same lol

the bigger issue is what Vantel pointed out before, in that in the span of a couple years, the prospect cupboard is nearly back to Gillis bare.

Virtanen gone, 2 first rounds gone, a couple 2nd rounders gone, Juolevi bust, Lind gone, Gadjovich gone, Dahlen traded, Goldobin gone. Gaudette gone. Madden gone.

Life moves pretty fast, and if you continue to deal picks for roster players instead of accumulating or just keeping those said picks, it creeps up and haunts you rather quickly.

On the other hand, its nice to see some of those picks actually make the roster in Rathbone, Podkolzin, Hoglander. We definitely need to start accumulating and not dealing anymore 1st and 2nd rounders though.

Agree to disagree. The more box tops you have of the Fruit Loop or Chocolate Frosted Sugar Bombs, the better chance you have at winning the Elephant.

Yep. the cupboard are looking quite bare again. We had alot of players come up quickly to the big squad, which is great as they were good enough, but this doesn't help the pipeline. Like you said, STOP TRADING PICKS!

I was in favor of trading the first round pick when they traded for JTM . I wasn't in love with the player but I knew it was coming. The trade of the first this year was so obvious it was going to happen. I wasn't for moving this years but I knew it was coming and even knew exactly what it was going to be because Benning can be very easy to read most of the time. He has to stop now .

His job is at stake and he might be trying anything to save his job.

They still have some prospects just not first and second round prospects aside from Klimovich

Chances are you will always love the return on a player dealt for a 1st rounder though. The problem is that it's at the expense of now vs the future. I hope whatever GM takes over for Benning next doesn't continue this trend.
