ok, I guess it depends how you say it. when I use the expression in this case it has a very positive "they should make the playoffs and perhaps do some damage again" vibe to it
- Pat1993

there you go. I don't want to go againts the 'vibe'.
but not good enough imo. I'leave it at that.

I don't mind not having the "legit contender" label to be honest, even though we'd probably be talking about it if it wasn't for the issues at center

I'm confident they'll be fine in goal once Price is back (you can insert a "lol" here, I get it), and I think they can figure it out on D and stabilize things, if they play to their potential they won't be an easy group of guys to play against.

I've completely lost hope in humanity, so if I can hold on to something hockey-related then I guess not all is lost

They're not a bad team by any means, but imo it's very tough to argue they're as good as last year's playoff team. They could use a better 2nd line center and a real top 4 RD (I'm not remotely convinced Savard is that, I think he's a good #5). It'll definitely be a challenge to get those assets, but Bergevin better, because he's saying they're all in after the Dvorak trade.

they're all in as in "we've done enough trades, this is the team we have" or as in "we're gonna do everything we can to reach the finals again and win the cup"..?

The latter. He's sacrificed futures for a present asset, it doesn't make sense to stop now unless eternal mediocrity is the goal. I mean we do have Price, 3/4 top 4 dmen, strong on the wings, and an ok #1 center, to me the Dvorak trade is saying he's going for it because he doesn't think the team is too far off. That said it's very clear they need more to have a realistic shot.

agreed. I do hope MB has a few more moves up his sleeve, but at the same time he should think twice before trading away a guy like Guhle for example, at some point the team is gonna need younger guys to step in, so if he does make a trade involving him it better be worth it lol

na na na. Guhle is not going anywhere. I'm all for trading a few prospects if needed, but not Primeau, Guhle or Ylonen. anyone else is fine.

Yeah, I mean I'd love to give as little as possible for upgrades, but I know those assets will be expensive.

yup, it should be expensive indeed, especially for a center, but if he does get to grab an established 2C still in his 20s then the deal might be worth it... not saying there are hundreds of options out there but if there's on thing that MB has been good at generally speaking it's trades, so let's hope this trend continues.
