Hopefully the new GM thinks that too, realizing it'd be too much money tied up to be a top heavy team, and ships him out for a first and third round picks or more at min.

I got to say, I had a lot more optimism back in the summer than I do today for this season.

Good speed from one of our prospects. I heard he was a very good late round pick because of his birthday. He seems to be doing pretty good .

Really feels like Burroughs came out of nowhere, I had never heard his name until training camp. Looked him up and turns out he played 5 games with the Avs last year, so must be doing something right.

Definitely a dark horse . He caught my attention the first game against the Kraken . He seemed to be very creative and good puck mover. Plays a safe D.

agree all around, I liked Burroughs. I thought Jack started strong, but kind of faded during the pre-season but it's good to see him get a chance to start the season, he's got the talent to flourish
- Nucker101

I think Rathbone faded a bit but he also played in 7 pre season games, he will get somewhat sheltered minutes on the the third pair but won't get blown by if he gets stuck out against speedy forwards, he also has Burroughs who can give him some protection if someone decides to take a shot. He's still very early in his development and hasn't played a lot of games in the last two years. I like the player a lot, I will have a lot of patience for him.

In either 18' or 19' when Islanders put him on waivers, I wanted Van to claim him. One of those years.

It refreshing to see VAN developing players for other teams, a clear indication this team has a tremendous amount of depth. Bring on the playoffs.

Meh, if they trade him, it would be this coming summer? So then you're getting either this or next years draft, plus ~2 years for the kid to develop (not getting a top 10 pick)... I think it'd be more prudent to get a player that can impact sooner than 3-4 years down the line.

I know this isn't a serious post, but ironically you are correct, it is a good sign that the Canucks are now at a point where the players who failed to make their roster are getting claimed by weaker teams.

There was a list I saw that had pretty much every eligible player into a NHL projection of star player, 100+ nhl games, etc.

Lucas Forsell on that list had a 4% chance of playing 100+ nhl games.

Which was double/triple what a lot of other players drafted in rounds 5-7 were.

Time to perform with the tremendous amount of talent on this team.

The years of excuses have come to an end.

He has played well so far this season. You would know more than me but I heard his birthdate was a big reason he got passed over so late in the draft . I think he just came under the wire for draft eligibility and would have been drafted much hire next draft?

You need to when you have top 6 picks like JV & OJ who are busts.

The least heftiest teams in the #NHL (in lbs)

This will only resonate with #Canucks fans

Chicago 191.1
Pittsburgh 191.2
Vancouver 193.3
Philadelphia 194.1
Columbus 194.4

Looks like the Canucks are amongst the teams going all-in on speed/skill

Jimbo fucked up .

Canucks in the last two years seemed to have done a better job drafting but by no means are they draft gurus . I do like the draft team more now that what's his name is gone.

He was two weeks away from this years draft. For where he is at in terms of development. Costmar another 7th round pick is a very close comparable, both are quite a ways behind Hoglander.

JB's numerous amount of mistakes are no longer with the team.

No more excuses, the team has to perform this year.
