lots of new faces, they'll need some time to gel
- Nucker101

I'll add that to the list of excuses.

The kid wants to win, he has self drive, can't teach that
- Nucker101

Getting his next big pay day has to help with the drive!

One game away from the conference finals with Beagle in the lineup...you think Zacmac and Gadj would have got us there?

lol

- LordHumungous

Beagle was definitely the driving force

and ya I dont' really care about losing those 2... Do think the asset management on Gadj wasn't great though...

Wasn't that the same excuse they had last season.

No one claimed he was a 'driving force' but hey...keep thinking it didn't matter

But agree losing those 2 is no biggy.

Rathbone and Burroughs third pairing tonight. Glad for them . Thought Burr had a good camp and deserved a chance.

I liked ZacMac and always pulled for him to do well but he was very inconsistent. He would bring it every once in a while and you just can't play like that.

Not sure this got any mention yet but Petey looked good with faceoffs in the preseason. All my talk about Miller possibly centering the Lotto line but Petey looks to have improved in that category. Good for him...

Only 2 games though.

- boonerbuck

Petey has to step that up, if he wants to be paid like a 1C he can't have someone take his faceoffs for him.

Plus, that would free up Miller to be traded for some impact D help at some point

agree all around, I liked Burroughs. I thought Jack started strong, but kind of faded during the pre-season but it's good to see him get a chance to start the season, he's got the talent to flourish

Sort of astonishing my cousin's just had their hockey draft last night.

30 years they have been doing it. 16 out of the 18 guys have been there for the entire 30 years.

It appears that the Abbotsford Canucks have signed a former BCHLer and NCAA captain.

Announcement to come later today.

I think over all looking at the team I don't see them having a great start but I think some of these players will grow on us . That new kid they got yesterday seems like he will be entertaining . Pods will add something we haven't seen in quite a while. (He had a bar down shot this morning that had Brock shaking his head and saying WOW.

Pod's got a nice shot, but he's a pass-first player. I'd like to see him use that shot more

Hopefully the new GM thinks that too, realizing it'd be too much money tied up to be a top heavy team, and ships him out for a good young RHD.

Really feels like Burroughs came out of nowhere, I had never heard his name until training camp. Looked him up and turns out he played 5 games with the Avs last year, so must be doing something right.
