I’m interested in Borgy too but for me it’s Seth Jones. I’m expecting to see a guy who’s dominant offensively, brings some physicality and who’s not as accomplished defensively. But I believe defense is about effort, hard work and the willingness to dedicate to playing it. And I’m hopJones proves the naysayers wrong and dedicates himself to playing defense as well as he plays offensively. - paulr
The Borg and Jones are both good choices, for me its Kubalik. He’s an RFA at season’s end, will the Hawks re-sign him or will Kubalik be traded to possibly recover a first round pick? |

Is this a bad thing? He didn't notably outplay anyone, and why risk injury if you are planning on trading him soon? I'm sure that Stan would put a bug in his ear about playing Strome if need be. It's not like he's dealing with Q anymore. - Chunk
He notably outplayed the flavor (flavour) of the month Adam Gaudette, except for one exhibition game.

I agree on Jones. I was thinking more of the Utes. Among vets, I'm also curious about Johnny. Seth has been bashed so much here that I'm expecting a 4/5 defenseman. |

To be honest, I don't remember who I picked for most improved, but the guy that intrigues me the most (for this game at least) is Kurashev. He's been put in an incredible position, and I think he's got the drive to make something of it. |

Well yeah, but he's not playing either. Ultimately, I think Gaudette will end up being a better overall player than Strome. Yes, recency bias, and I'm on record as being a fan, but he just brings a lot more when he is on the ice. |

LOL! Why are you hyping S. Jones? He's a 6/7 on a good team. |

I'm wondering if this depends on how ready Reichel proves to be. If Reichel can approximate Kubalik by midseason, and a good return is available, the trade could happen.

That's good news, I'll take Mitchell's ill advised pinches compared to no defense Gusto
I'm thinking if the great communicators defense still sucks, hopefully they go the Penguins route, fire him midseason and the new coach comes in and we go to the SC finals |

You or I should worry about that low dose aspirin I take before going to sleep?
I would think most posters here have to worry about abstaining from Diet soda and non-diet sodas, all fast food purchases, alcohol, and lack of solid vegetable filled diets and exercise over aspirin.
And the "man"...is that some political slang just like when I had to get educated after "cancel culture" was posted?
Kent state "man" was the establishments reaction to anti-war protestors, "...the man come and take you away"...
...on to hockey where we should have started:
What ever happened to the idea of competition? Why not keep Strome and feel the necessary feeling he has got to compete to play wherever he can in the line-up, before a unnecessary hasty discard? - wiz1901
Why would anyone take low dose aspirin daily without consulting their doctor first? If you don't have health insurance i guess someone would.

So, this is a championship roster with a Q-level coach?
You're instigatin' now, Chief. |

Well, that's not really the way "science" operates these days. - mohel
if you were born in the USA in 1900, your life expectancy was 47 years.
In 2020, it was 79 years.
While there are a number of reasons for the increase, one of the leading factors is modern science and medicine. Improved medications, vaccines (yes vaccines), technology, surgical techniques, better diagnostic techniques, etc.
Have you seen anyone die from polio lately? How about smallpox? Tetanus?
If I'm betting my life, my chips on are science. |

I agree that scientific advancements have increased life expectancy, but the largest gain in life expectancy occurred between 1880 and 1920 due to public health improvements such as control of infectious diseases, more abundant and safer foods, cleaner water, and other nonmedical social improvements.
This period is actually referred to as the “First Public Health Revolution” and it occurred before the medical interventions of antibiotics and advanced surgical techniques were in place. Historians have concluded that improved sanitation, public water treatment, sewage management, food inspection and municipal garbage collection almost eliminated the aforementioned causes of death. Also, other social advancements such as greater understanding of nutrition, better housing conditions, air quality improvements, child labor laws and higher literacy rates also greatly improved overall health and life expectancy.

And what prompted and drove the public health improvements? |

Damn, that was a lot of good stuff. Thanks for the Blog. Time to look ahead to the Hawks. Hope tonight is a good game, my older son is back home from San Diego and his best friend and all around good kid (who I also coached back a few years ago) are coming over for some adult beverages and Hawks hockey.
Also, will be taking younger son (Penguins fan) to the game Saturday night. |

In Illinois if a guy gets run over by a bus the cause of death is automatically covid. The numbers are so skewed here it's a joke. |

god's speed to anyone who lives in the city limits. This mandated vaccine push by Lightfoot is going to open up a TON Of opportunity for criminals as a large % will be home sitting there, unpaid.
A stupid taffy pull......lightfoots power play=unpaid vs police refusing=unprotected city.
Who wins? the idiots who continue to thrive under the genius that is Kimberly Foxx and her band of dimwits. |
