They traded Buchnevich because they couldnt afford to pay him 6 5 to 7 M and pay bigger pieces like Zibanejad ..Fox etc. Called CAP management. Ha d nothing to do with his skills or the return he is a good player and well liked they had no choice - hfc355
Nice story until you stop and realize that they forked Buchnevich's cash over to Goodrow and Reaves. And Blais is an RFA after this season to boot. |

We must be at 50 contracts now. Great! Another ECHL scrub to sit in the pressbox! haha - Hextall271
Already being at 50 before the season begins is really dumb. McEwen and Brown better be worth the opportunity cost. |

Not exactly sure what the plan is. A little more toughness I guess. |

So, what’s the opening night lineup now? |
|
|
|
Isn’t it a little weird that after having an open competition internally to fill out the lineup, the team basically chose two players who weren’t even on the team to begin with?
Not even a shot at the new additions but what kind of development is going on here?

So I heard on NHL Center Ice network on Sirius/XM that Hayes was put on LTIR this afternoon. Their info is usually correct. Is this true? |

That's false. They would have no problem fitting Buchnevich in under the cap.

They couldn't have picked up McEwen without clearing space somehow.

Just for this board, sportsnet did a why your team won’t win the cup ranking edition. (Although I think it would have been more appropriate to do a why your team will finish last overall and relocate haha ) Enjoy.

This year yes. But the next two years they have some contracts to hand out that won’t be small. |

Yeah not sure yet. But I like the kid for the fourth line. And right now would play him there over Nate and brown.

From what I’ve seen I don’t mind this at all. 4 th liner. Has some toughness. Has fought a bunch of heavyweights and scored a couple points. We will see. |
