Believe what you want but he was traded because he would be a UFA after this season and they knew they couldnt afford him. Very simple. Actually Buchnevich is a pretty first guy not a soft player at all . Strictly a Cap move. Yes they wanted team to get grittier and tougher but they added 4 other guys to fill that role. It was purely a $$$ move - hfc355
Believe what you want but it was not strictly a cap move. Very simple. It was a bad hockey trade is what it was. They did not need to trade him because of the cap. The facts bear that out.

People wanted the flyers to get him a few years ago. |

Short term deals not the term that Buchnevich wanted. Also paying 3 starters with the money they would have paid Buchnevich. Again cap management. You can only have certain number guys making 6M plus and will be extending Fox..Kakko ..Lafreniere soon - hfc355
Goodrow is not on a short term deal. Reaves is still on the books when Fox and Kakko are up for their next deals. They don't have anymore cap space than if they just resigned Buch.
And you call it three "starters" but all I see are plugs. While Buch is one of the better two-way forwards in the league. |

The guy wants to tell people its about the cap while stating that Goodrow is on a short term deal, which his current deal is 6 years. Not the term that Buchnevich wanted who signed a 4 year deal. He seems short on the facts all around. |

Late to the party as always but personally would love to see Kapanen suit up for the Alum. Not many Flyers fans have anything but respect for the gritty Fin. Brashear, Knuble and of course JR would be fun additions at some point in time but Kap's one I would kill to see again, Hated how his Flyers and NHL career ended. - GPerogie
Always was a big fan of Sami. The 2004 playoff run I will never forget. Absolute warrior |

Who knows what Laf, Miller, and the next group of rfa s want though. The kids are getting paid if they perform. Will strome be retained? Prob another raise. Gorgiev. Prob misspelled. Fox will get paid. |

More than happy with the pick up. Young, tough, the potential to play. I’d rather see MacEwen than Aube-Kubel. - SuperSchennBros
This!
Don't know much about him but if it gets NAK and his 2 high sticking penalties a game out, I'll take him. Can't be any worse. |

Cant win ‘em all. Even swami was wrong tonight. Great goaltending by smith tonight. And only 2 shots for Connor. |

Likewise but if he can be a 2014 Montreal Weise I'm all for it. |
