Most marlies games were pretty dead. So were Hamilton and Toronto Roadrunner ones, save when the Wilkes Barre fans showed up. Ducks were surprisingly quiet for half a playoff game. I was like crap am I gonna get in 💩 for making noise or something. Lol

Because I’ve been there and it’s fine. I think the way it’s broadcast doesn’t appropriately mic the crowd. Trust me I was a musician for a long time and there’s great places where you can’t hear a crowd from stage unless they’re mic’d as well.

But you just assume the crowd sucks. Hence my point of view.

Oh man I do agree totally. The okd buildings wete the best. Chicago stadium. Couldnt put the organ right up they’d shake the place apart. They were just phenominal at trapping and capturing that noise so it was so loud. The new arenas are flashy bigger but also waaaay more open and dont get that same level of noise
