Does he play tonight?
Much like Suzuki. The contract is currently an overpay, but could turn into good value. - Leafs43

seems high
but I am a leafs fan...so anything under 10 is fine i guess - senstroll
The guy was on pace for like 55 points last year. And its not like he is some superskilled guy just about to score 80 points.
I love this deal as a fan of a rival team.
That said, the sens didnt really have a choice. Nobody wants to play there. |

Tkachuk is a rare player. There aren't many gritty, skilled guys in the league. So he gets a premium for that.
He needs to turn into a 70ish point player for this deal to work out for the Sens I think.

The shorthanded goal was hilarious. - AdamFrench
I got him in a Yahoo league where shorthanded points is it's own category, and Ov might've single handedly won me that for the week. |

7x$8.2M for Brady T - Canada Cup

He's really not that skilled. Id say he is closer to Tom Wilson then what I would consider a skilled forward

Just when you though Nylander contract couldn’t get any better (value vs impact) - Ottawa announces another signing. Geez.
Some people in Toronto would say they would rather have Tkachuk over Nylander. It defends on what you think the team needs in terms of type/role of player you feel your team requires.
But who’s a better player (skill)? Nylander all day. |

This + the Suzuki deal (to me) make the contracts Dubas signed with some of the Leaf players seem very fair.
At least to me.

Whatever you want to call him, skilled or not - He has the potential to be a 30 goal/70 point guy.
The Sens are paying him as such, it's anyones guess whether he gets there.

Sure he does.
Could have demanded a trade or signed for less years. |

When people say that they are referring to Matthew, not Brady. Matthew is a much better player.

I just meant that - some folks may say Brady is better because I used the contract signing as a way to illustrate the merits of the Nylander contract.
To be honest it depends what type of winger is needed for the team when comparing Matthew vs Nylander. If I lack skill/speed Nylander is far and away better. If I want some grit and a pest type player I’d go with Matthew Tkachuk. |

They are hosting a TV show and one guy throws his jacket and takes off his tie.
Hopefully he didnt start throwing his shoes after the 3rd goal. |
