That means nothing to Matthews... The issue that YOU won't... He is in the hockey capital on the world... I don't get your take. But, fine. We will see in 4 years.

I believe that Matthews will recruit McDavid to come to the Leafs once McDavids contract is up.
- Archaic

For me its too early to tell what will happen with either. Edmonton could turn things around and McJesus could stay. Toronto could go deep these next few years.

There's more to indicate Matthews would stay than up and leave today.
Things could change in a few years.

We'll see. But nothing is guaranteed one or another right now.

I’ll agree to disagree, different type of players but Willie assisting on a bunch of Matthews goals with ozone starts and him shooting 14-18%

If Willie gets that much after a couple 20 goal seasons playing in prime spots then Tkachuk is too, plus he crash and bangs and takes care of him and his teammates. JMO

You should wake up soon, did you not see Willie last night?
I saw Marner being a little girl all game.

Chabot should be stewing over this.

Stützle is licking his chops.

Cause he going to get what BT just got IMHO.

Nah, the fan base wouldn’t allow them to trade Nylander to make room.

If everything goes according to plan and Stutzle becomes their offensive dynamo.

Why shouldn't he get more?

This is Marner using Matthews's contract as an in-house comparable after outscoring him by 25 points when they signed their contracts all over again.

I didn’t see Marner, did he play.

That’s sort of rude, wake up?

*rubs eyes*

I was talking about Willies 1st 2 seasons and earning $7m vs Tkachuk. 🤷🏻‍♂️Nothing but the truth🤷🏻‍♂️

JT's contract will be up then....easy to fit with Nylander remaining on board.

1st he’s got to out score him, tough on that team right now.

Well if I was a betting man, I'd bet on him outscoring Tkachuk already this season.

They’re not going to bail on their captain, who was born in the GTA, when he’s only 35

Holy hell the fantasies on here today amaze me

I don’t mind Willie, I’m not going to say he’s better then Marner just yet. Maybe some day, let’s get him playing against 1st lines 1st and see what happens.

He looked good last night, still likes to attack on the weak side of the puck but he was 1 of our best.

I’d didn’t notice either guy doing much work. Pretty sad when line 3 outplays line 1.

1st game, I expect more tonight from the core.

Line 1 was lacking something last night.

Can't put my finger on it though....

You don't need to bail on JT to open up cap space for other players.

You just need to sign him for significantly less than 11 million.

He’ll need to retire or sign for A LOT less would be my guess.

Was he not playing against the first line last night, I saw him crashing and banging all night.
For the record I don't think he is as talented as Marner. I just think he's way tougher and never afraid.
