but but but the weak Canadian division - 2Real
Its a new year and a new team. This Vancouver team is much different from the one that played last season. The only players from the roster last season are:
Pettersen
Horvat
J.T Miller
Boeser
Pearson
Hoglander
Hughes
Myers
Demko

Lol reading back through these comments is jokes and obviously from the dame clowns. All this talk of how slow the team is yet they didnt look slow on the first.
Somehow its girouxs fault hart let in some bad goals
Some how starting the season off with a point is considered a useless point? Its game one.
Flyers had a fantastic start. They need to bring that for a full game. Its like the team isnt ready for pushback - xShoot4WarAmpsx
They are slow. Vancouver took a period to get their legs. Then they dominated |

Why are you here douchebag?? - Phillywhiteout
Because I troll my team. 35 years of watching team gives me that right. Because I’m (frank)ing tired of the poopshow of philly being run by a corporate (frank)head |

It’s one game. Scratched a point after it. One side will mention the terrible 2nd period. The other side will say that they managed to come back from 2 down.
Let’s move on. I think the Kraken are next? That should be interesting. Lookin forward to it. - Hesh_
Curious if you watched Seattle games? Not highly skilled but they work every shift. That’s a Philly nightmare. |

Can’t say I have, but I heard that elsewhere, too.
The only two games I’ve gotten to watch since the start of the season was last night’s Flyers game, and the Lightning come back in OT against the Red Wings. I was sipping on a few rusty nails watching that as well as the Birds at the bar. Sips became gulps as I observed the latter. Light on the Drambuie, please.
Tampa may not be as deep as they were prior; they’re certainly more vulnerable. Man, they sure could pour it on when needed at the end of that game, though. |

That’s some pretty clever stuff right there. Love it. Gonna put Doug Stanhope into retirement with that biting wit. |

Any three at 3-4-5 after the stiff they took would have been better…but it’s over now. Both the guy responsible and the player are gone. But Ya Pettersson would have been a cornerstone add. - landros 2
At least we would win a few more shootouts ... I don't understand why Couts and G are the ones AV picks to start the shootout. What about Farabee, or Atkinson, or even Brassard? Do we have to see the same players get the same results night after night? |

Couldn’t agree more. And even on the #1 PP unit...much rather see Farabee and Atkinson over just about any other forward. |

Well that was disappointing, this team isnt going far if Hart doesnt turn it around. Glad AV kept him in. HAve a feeling we will see Sandstrom by Dec.......maybe thats a good thing. Cant wait too long, i think he will be better than jones. But need to give jones a shot to prove it.
I just kind of watching it fast forwarding through this morning, but seemed like they dumped it in and forechecked well in the 1st, and got away from the dump in for the 2nd. Is it the players not totally bought in ? Also TK didnt look good at all, until the end. But he had a couple shots early, and they were weak and not going close to the net. He needs to play better. No excuses this year for everyone. Also looked like Couts timing was off just a bit, he will be better. |

I said earlier the Flyers are going to need guys like Konecny and Farabee to really take that next step this year….I guess you can add Atkinson as well. It can’t keep falling on an aging G. AV went with his leaders and it didn’t work. I really wish it would just be a 10 minute 3 on 3 and then a tie. I’ve never liked the shoot out (probably because of the Flyers record). I assume they practice the shoot out and AV goes by that….but if there going against Hart maybe he should come up with a new plan…lol. Just kidding.

I was at the game last night......same old, same old!
It wasn't like we were playing Tampa or Isles. That was a mediocre to bad Vancouver team.
After the 1st period, it was last year's team all over again.
Carter lets in 3 soft goals then the first 15 minutes of the 3rd period, down 2 goals, the play was lackluster. Then they wake up and tie the game.
The 3 on 3 was pathetic....you still have no speed or aggression.
The Canucks, probably knowing the Flyers stink at shootouts, were just playing puck possession and we weren't going after them to try to get the puck.
Then AV in the shootout....why does he insist on shooting first especially since we do not have success? When you shoot first and miss, you are already have a tough climb.
Then he goes Coots and G, 1-2
I would have went Atkinson-G-Farabee or Atkinson-Farabee-TK.
They got a point but very disappointing start with what we were told was a changed and upgraded team. |

Hart was the victim of some bad bounces, and that second one had to kill his confidence. He looked nervous after the 2nd goal against and couldn’t right the ship for the rest of the period. To his credit he did play good in the third and made a couple of really good saves in OT. Unfortunately he lost his angle badly on the first shootout goal and looked lost on the second one. If Jones goes in Monday night let’s hope we get the Jones of 4 years ago…other wise goaltending may be an issue.
All that being said I still think Hart will get it back. |

In my opinion it was only 2 bad goals. Really bad but still 2. It's very difficult in the NHL to come back when down in the 3rd period. Teams adjust their forecheck structure and play less aggressively which in turn limits offensive opportunity. I'd like to see more of a push over the entire 3rd period but have to give the Flyers credit for tying it up.
Atkinson the last 2 seasons has not been good in the shootout.
If the Flyers had received quality goaltending. Good chance they win the game. |

Agreed on the 3rd period…they were out worked and clearly didn’t show any urgency until the final few minutes. It really did look like a replay of some games last year. Sadly. |

What happened to the Caaaaater Haaaaat that had a short memory? A couple of those goals were just bad bounces, but he seemed shook. Looks like he's always leaning forward in net which I would think isn't a good thing(committing too quick). Please fire the PK coach this morning!! It ain't workin and he ain't adjusting. I see many comments about them looking lackluster in the 3rd. I really think this is a symptom of their lack of speed up front. When teams sit back with a lead they have no one to push the pedal to the metal. Nothing happened until they had the extra guy/s. |

How do the flyers fans think Sanheim played? How about Nate?
On the first Canucks goal he beat Hart short side top shelf. That should not happen on an unscreened shot. He absolutely went down early imo. Was it a bad goal? No. Was it one that is very savable and needs to be stopped? Yes. |
