Vegas would never tempt a hungry fan base into believing their team was a Cup contender, would they? No, they wouldn't do that.
- fifty__missions

That statement makes absolutely no sense. How does Vegas win by offering a 6 to 1 payout if the Leafs miss the playoffs? (That's the lowest payout I've seen, I think I saw 8.5 to 1 a little back)

Go make a (frank) ton of money betting on the Leafs to miss if you honestly think the odds are 50/50.

Why do think Auston's out? Don't be surprised if this wrist injury is a problem all season.
- fifty__missions

I wouldn't be surprised if surgery fixed the problem and it's not a problem at all.

While looking at Holl, who is beneath him.
- GreatGigInTheSky

I’ll take Holl over Dermott any day of the week.

That being said, neither guy should be in the top-4. Here’s hoping Liljegren plays well.

He’ll score 50 in 38. Gretzky is overrated.

Yeah, the size of the Leafs' betting fanbase might move the line a little bit, but 50/50 to make the playoffs is clearly not a take shared by any of the analysts.

I'd be really worried about my money if I bet the Leafs to miss the playoffs.

I have half a mind to drop $250 on them to miss.

$1,500 is a nice little consolation prize if the leafs are eliminated.

I forgot a word in my post. It makes more sense now.

Holl is too useless. The literal worst with the puck and can't skate to save his life. I take Dermott easily.

I agree, though. Both should top out as 3rd pairing (even if Holl is barely that). I'm hoping Liljegren just plays like he can and isn't nervous. He's a kid, so he'll for sure make mistakes, but I hope he holds himself up. I think he'll also allow Muzzin to sit back and not skate up ice so much.

You were bragging about Sandin’s stats and Dermott is right there and always has been? Not sure what you don’t like about him.

It is a nice hedge against that bummer result. I just don't see it though. They're too strong.

I'd love to find a futures bet on them winning tbe first round, because I love that bet. Losing six times in a row is astronomically unlikely.

I think so, it would be close

None of our D give me tons of confidence, expect Brodie I guess and Muzzin ( except this year so far 🤣 )

I think that’s the Leafs game plan, have 1 D who jumps up and 1 that doesn’t.

Sandin is a 21 year old rookie. I was happy when Dermott did well when he was younger too. Dermott just hasn’t taken the next and likely never will. He’s an okay #6.

Dermott can’t play the PK. Holl can and does okay.

(frank), Rielly beat out Dermott for the last PK spot.

They were hopeful he'd be ready for the start of the season. But it's looking like he'll be 5 or so days later. I fail to see how it's a problem.

You're right, it's not the same territory. He's better now after getting the surgery than he was last season playing hurt.

His stats say he’s a good 5/6 and I’m not sure why everyone is trying to trade him. 1 or 2 injuries and we’re hunting Marincin down to play. 🤣

As soon as we trade him, he will be Shea Theodore 😔

He’s still much younger than Holl
Cheaper than Holl
Can play either side

MarInsanity, baby.

Sandin and Liljegren need spots to play. Both have more upside than Dermott. Holl at least can play the PK, and you’re not touching the other 3.
