Well I can appreciate some people like their music, but id suggest its not in touch with most fans at this point considering they formed before any current Leafs players, and most current fans were born. JMO

If Wayne Gretzky can get into a fight, so could Marner.. Amirite or Amirov?
- PatC80

Wayne is still getting chirped about one of his 2 fights to this day....

Not sure I agree totally with that, but regardless, you probably dont want to cater to just the older crowd if you want to continue to be the most important team in the NHL.

I do like the idea of letting players choose their own goal song, I think its a good idea.

Or at least let them choose as a team what they’ll all run with

Does Brisbois come to the Habs training camps and teach the new players or new Habs this?

It would explain alot.

I like it too, I'm just envisioning the polite, witty banter here about the players choices!

Outplayed by Brisebois.

Must have been a tough pill to swallow for Wayne.

I am not overly excited for this season right now. I'll pay attention in the new year more closely. Regular season only matters to me to ensure they make the playoffs.

While I cant say I dont feel a bit of the same way, there are some things keeping me interested in like seeing Bunting/Kase/Ritchie and Sandins growth.

I think they are already in deep, deep trouble.

My daughter says her high school doesn't give a crap about the NHL - it's all about the Raptors.

The cost to play the game has become franking obscene.

Kids are leaving in droves to play basketball and soccer.

And the ticket prices have become obscene.

When I was in high school, you could buy greys at the Gardens for $7.

By the mid-1990s, it was $17-$21.

It's now out of the reach of most families.

how many games into the season will Marner go before he scores a goal?

3?
10?
100?

Yeah those storylines interest me too and it'll be neat to read about here and catch some games but overall regular season games are less priority.

Yeah raptors and probably jays too at this point. Even if the Leafs win or go deep this year, it's just too costly for kids to get into.

I have a friend in the States who's son is 8 and plays competitive baseball and the cost of it is about half or less of the same level of hockey here.

Yup, and I’d bet that music industries would be willing to payout royalties for it to happen as well

I'd be good with this if there wasn't all the swearing in it....because Drake is from Toronto + when I hear this song I immediately remember this video and laugh.

Maybe they could edit and loop it like they did for this video - even ask Drake to swap out the word they cut out with Leafs.

Started from the bottom now we here, started from the bottom now my whole Leafs team is here ya, started from the bottom now we here....

lol - I'll show myself the door.

Hall and Oates is tragically under-rated - they are a fabulous band.

They are still kickin' it at live shows (or at least they were pre-pandemic). I would kill to go see them live.

Having said that, they are clearly identified as being a Philly band.

It's embarrassing that we use their work as our goal song.

Have you seen Daryl's place? It's a bunch of musician he invites over to jam with.
