It's an excellent goal song.
I don't overly care what people think of the song itself, but as a goal song, it's perfect. - GreatGigInTheSky

If I was the Maple Leafs I would announce on Twitter that they have a new goal song, hype it up all day, then play "Never gonna give you up" after the first goal is scored

Haha - ya man it’s a fun song for sure. I’m sure of it ticked off the players they’d change it - so obviously they are fine with it. I guarantee they have say if something has to go or not.
Might be a prime time for our brass to apologize to Tukka for the Raycroft trade. Kind of ease the tension in the room when we pick him up for the play-off run.

One of my big concerns about this season. Neither guy has a track record of carrying the mail. How do you blow your groin in game 1, anyway? Now we got one guy who has never played more than 30 odd games. I like Jack Campbell. But this team is in a WORLD of hurt if he goes down. Btw, didn't someone around this team used to say "start on time"?

If Vasilevsky goes down or Helly in Winnipeg go down the teams are also in a world of hurt.
When starters go down on teams they all suffer. Leafs aren't the only one.

I'm thinking Holl @ 2M has been incorrectly assessed as a bargain for a Top 4 RHD. Frankly, I think he's overrated AF.
Muzzin has played very poorly in his first two games and guess who has also played like poop? Justin Holl. Coincidence? I think not. - mjones242
Leafs look to be playing a bit different in their own zone this year. They tweaked coverage a bit and it’s throwing guys off a bit I think. They will figure it out…At least Muzzin will. He’s a good dman. Holl is a bit day-to-day with his play to be honest. He’s a decent #4 dman when he’s at his best.

Unfortunately, he's not at his best very much. - mjones242
Haha - he’s not that bad man. I do agree he would be an ideal bottom pairing guy but Leafs don’t have a better suited 2nd pairing guy than Holl. Sandin maybe next year after growing pains this full 82. But not right now…positive ways for you guys is if you do keep Rielly (not starting that debate at all just if it works out like that)

oh with caufield?
yeah he got caught
He’s still their best DEFENSEman and that’s telling - Skalapy
Yup, wishing him and Holl would just become one of those pairs that sit back, get the puck, and make a forward to come back and get it to move forward.

Rielly-Brodie
Muzzin-Sandin
Is a nice Top 4 - Big23Questions
He's less than mediocre as a Top 4 defender. He'd be reasonable enough on the 3rd pair.
The cap situation we have in Toronto means we have very little choice but to play him as our second pair RHD as there hasn't been anyone in the system who can reasonably replace him. I'm hoping Lilybust will be that guy at some point...

Except Holl-Dermott as a 3rd pairing would be outright terrifying for a leafs fan lol

Would be great to see Sandin really step up this season and be the heir apparent to Rielly. That would give the team a lot of flexibility to let Rielly walk (or trade his rights away) and use that cap space to sign/trade for a Muzzin type in the off-season and a bottom pair LHD better than Dermott:
Sandin-Brodie
Muzzin-Muzzinesque RHD
Better Than EzraDermott-Lilybust

I’m hoping the exact same thing regarding Sandin tbh. However I was assuming Muzzin/Holl would be the effective shut down pairing letting Sandin do the 3rd pairing and maybe 2nd PP kinda thing. If they’re considering themselves cup contenders putting a rookie in the second primarily defensive pairing as the offensive talent is a big risk. I guess here’s hoping he proves it’s a good call to play him with more primary ice time
