Sandin leads the Leafs D in the following categories at 5v5;
CF%
FF%
SF%
xGF%
SCF%
HDCF%
Granted, he’s facing weak competition and starting 61% (2nd highest) in the Ozone. Good start to his season nonetheless. |

I’d be fine with having a boring third pairing tbh lol
Holl with Dermott tho… a meh defensive guy paired with a meh offensive guy… that alone bothers me - Dozzer
Ya man 100%. You need that pairing that you barely know played. Shut stuff down keep things simple…poppin’ pucks into the neutral zone. It kills the flow of your game but burns the game up a bit. You need that especially in the post season |

I'm thinking Holl @ 2M has been incorrectly assessed as a bargain for a Top 4 RHD. Frankly, I think he's overrated AF.
Muzzin has played very poorly in his first two games and guess who has also played like poop? Justin Holl. Coincidence? I think not. - mjones242
You're absolutely right.

So (frank)ing bad.
I feel bad for Muzzin. On top of not playing very good hockey, he's forced to drag Holl's rotting corpse around with him. Poor guy. - GreatGigInTheSky
I'm just glad we let McCann go for the provelege of keeping Holl.... |

Yup. Spezza hasn't been great but he's carrying two anchors around his neck right now. |

Any thoughts on Liverpool so far? I'm cautiously optimistic. We do need a midfielder at the Jan. transfer imo. Good to see Bobby F. bag one this morning. They need him to be a player. |

I think Marner is very talented. He gets a lot of blow back on this thread with some folks calling for him to be traded. If the Leafs were ever to trade Marner I think they would come to regret it. We also hear more and more calls for the Leafs to make trades to improve their goaltending and defence.
How can they do that?
Leafs and 2/3 of all the teams are already hard against the cap. The teams with free cap space are very reluctant to add big long term salary. They have their own entry level players coming along and everyone wants to preserve cap space and sign these elite young guys to long term deals of 6,7 and 8 years.
Doing a trade for an elite player is incredibly complex in today's NHL. I would like to see one workable proposal for a trade involving a big dollar contract that is actually possible and would make the Leafs a better team. |

I think I'm a bit more concerned about Snake and Marner and their slow starts.
You'd think 22M on the ice at the same time might tilt the ice a bit against bottom feeders.
Apparently not. |

Sorry missed this - was busy watching the game! With VVD back and Salah playing the way he is it's 'all in' time. I agree we need another creative MF.
Hoping they find a way to nab Jude Bellingham soon too. |

I'd like to see Tavares with Nylander and Marner with kerfoot tonight |

The #leafs don't have the cap space to call up a goaltender to take Petr Mrazek's spot behind Jack Campbell tonight. They will likely sign U of T goalie Alex Bishop to an amateur tryout to back up Campbell. |

Is Mrazek not going on LTIR?
This poop really looks bad on management in my mind. Absolutely no flexibility to deal with short term injuries.
