With the new rules in Canada coming in end of October(?) he won’t even be allowed on a plane without proof of vaccine. Could basically only play home games. If he is unvaccinated that is.

Yes. He still could be vaccinated and want to protect his family from exposure through him. He has a child at home that is higher risk for complications and the nature of hockey makes the risk of contracting it greater. I respect the man's choice.
