That goal by Rathbone should have counted, Hoglander didn't even touch Greiss and the puck didn't get there until at least 2-3 seconds later, it's not like Greiss couldn't have made a play on it. That's why you can blame it on the refs, this should have gone to overtime at least. - DariusKnight
He hit his head? You could try to argue that his head was hanging out of the crease, but if the Canucks agreed with that they would have challenged it. |

My only complaint would be clarity on the goalie interference which negated the goal. I always thought it was only goaltender interference if the player bumps the goalie in the blue paint, which hoglander wasn't in when he bumped greiss - Codes1087
Goalie was in the crease though. Hog just has to be smarter in that situation. |

A bit of complaining about the reffing, yet no mention of OEL not getting called for spearing. |

He got a penalty for it...
they called it slashing, it was the offset with the bertuzzi call for roughing. |

It's not challengeable by the scoring team, if the ref counted the goal then Detroit would have the right to challenge, that's why I hate the way the system works. Hoglander might have touched Greiss's head but the interference was WAY before the goal went it and to my eye, didn't impede Greiss enough for him to not make a play on the puck, but I'm no ref. |

Ah OK, I thought they both went off for roughing. |

They evened up every scrum yet it was all Detroit starting it, instead of running around after garland tell zadina to keep his head up and reaching for a puck leaving himself vulnerable. |

you dont want refs to interfere more than they have to. Its up to the players to police themselves. Less reffing and more scrums is fine imo

i honestly thought the reffing was fine tonight.
Complaining about the reffing is like complaining about the judges scorecards in boxing or MMA. You never want to leave it in the hands or the refs/judges. Canucks didn't finish their chances plain and simple. Lots of chances, just coudn't bury them. |

True, and this was a game where you would expect to see the team not have the greatest game anyways. |

Abby Canucks are through 2 periods in Bakersfield - with a 3-2 lead!
Goals from Lukosevicius (I can't believe I have to learn how to spell that), plus Klimovich and Justin Bailey, all in the second period.
Abby was badly outplayed in the first, outshot 11-4, but got out of it down just 1-0 thanks to DiPietro.
Maybe took them a minute to get their bearings - being in the Western Conference is like a whole different league for the guys who did come from the Comets, and there are lots of new faces.
I'm encouraged, now. They've made a game of it! |

The positive is they hit the net 41 times. If they lost 3-1 and only got 20 shots, like they would have had last year, it would be worrisome. I thought it was a good game, love the animosity, and thought lots of the new players had good games. |

Not a fan of complaining about refs unless it’s egregious.
Team probably deserved a better fate, credit to Greiss for making some great saves.
OEL and Garland trade looks great so far
A healthy Boeser is going to make this forward group pretty deep |

At least he'll be better on the PP than Chiasson
Miller - EP - Boes
Pears - Bo - Garland
Hoglander - Richardinson - Pod
Highmore - Lammy - Dowling/Petan
Pretty solid top 9 |
