He’s given all he can
It's not enough,

But he’s still on the payroll 🎶 |

Nylander’s having a great year but you can’t saunter off to the bench when the other team has it 3 on 3.

Ritchie has been pretty much invisible these games.
Was a bit surprised how much he was hyped up... - 21peter
Matthews just came back so I think he will need some time. It’s basically your top lines first game together tonight.
…I did think he was more physical though. I’ve watched 3 Leafs games so far and haven’t really noticed him hitting at all. Maybe o was imagining it - just thought he was more physical in Bas/Ana |

The athletics post game article said it best-Matthews and Marner love chaos in the O zone and that’s when they are at their best.
They need someone who can play off that...Ritchie deserves a few more games to catch up but sooner or later Kase or Bunting need to be rewarded for their efforts. Ritchie is good in close but that skill set could be used on any line. Marner and Matthews just needs a guy who can dig at pucks and has good enough hockey sense to read off them.
Kerf could use a chance too. |

The Willy special.
He did the exact same thing down a goal with 1 minute left vs OTT.
But we’re not allowed to point out his laziness. |

You guys are franked. He was dead tired could barely skate but stayed on because Matthews sauntered (was also dead tired) I the bench just before Nylander could. It was a brutal change when Nylander went. The guy waited forever to jump on .

Really good game.
Leafs played well enough to get a win but, the hockey Gods keep sending great goaltending to frustrate them.
But, can that style of attacking game win you a playoff round? |

Eh? They limited the rags to less than 20 shots and had over 40 themselves.
This comment makes zero sense. |

He just slithers in for a troll after every loss. An OT loss in which the Leafs dominated and played well enough to win. Disappears like a fart in a windstorm when the Leafs do well.

I'm just worried maybe we should have picked Laine. |

Actually, at first it was Laine OR Puljujarvi....
But, the important question is, can the Leafs really make the playoffs playing a style that allows them to outshoot their opponent 2 to 1? |

That shesterkin.... pretty good young goalie. There was a time Russia couldnt produce a good goalie at all. Now they have arguably most of the best in the world. Shesterkin (not yet but he can get there). Vasy. Askarov on the way. Khudobin aint too shabby either. Serbob too i guess. |

But, my question still remains valid.
The Leaf attack is superb. The offensive game produces spectacular possession numbers. Fancy stats and our own eyes tell us that the Leafs should have won that game.
If the Leafs have a significant weakness it is on defence and in the nets.
I am interested in having someone explain to me how the Leafs will transition to playoff style hockey where games are often decided by the best goaltending performance.
You can look at last night's game and say the Leafs were great on the attack. You can also say that despite a dominant performance they still lost. Is there something that needs to be fixed?
