The fact that Bellows is still around and getting some games tells me they are ok with him.. Especially after that failed drug test issue. They must like something about his attitude and game. I thought for sure that was the end of his Isles career.

Really hard to tell. Newsday mentioned Bellows may sit today but Barry understand his importance to the Isles. Barry seems to understand in a Cap world you have to be able to rely on young players. Will be interesting to see how this plays out.

He's around because he costs nothing, gives them an opportunity to maybe get some offense out of him if someone in the top-six can't play, and because he requires waivers now. I don't think it's anything more than that.

He has no place in the lineup if everyone is healthy.

I agree chief. If Parise completely falls off there is a spot for Bellows outside of that hard to see a spot.

I am fine with that and agree.. just like him as a fill in over a Leo, Panik, or MDC.

By the way.. if you like College hockey this LIU team is pretty good. They are new team Division 1 and doing really well against the big boys out of the gate. They have a few games at Northwell that I am guessing u can go to for pretty cheap.

It just depends on who's out of the lineup, for me. Top-6, then throw Bellows in. But he has no business playing in the bottom six

Trotz says Varlamov remains day to day, has gotten a lot of work the past three days. Will skate again tomorrow and then #Isles and Varly will gauge where he is with regards to playing.

Looks like Parise is centering Bellows/Wahlstrom on that line at practice

Casey Cizikas suits up for his 594th career game with the #Isles. That ties him with John Tonelli on the franchise's all-time games played list (19th).

Casey Cizikas for HHOF.

Andrew Gross seems to think Pageau may have caught the stomach bug from Lee, so hopefully that's all it is, and if he misses this game he'll be back by the weekend. It's been our best line and pretty much loses its engine with Pageau out.

Yeah well I sure hope the stomach bug stops at Pageau and doesn't pluck one guy out of the lineup every night

Interesting D pairings and I think it is a must to split up Pulock and Pelech.

If these are the d-men we’re going with I like that Dobson and Greene are back together. I thought the bottom 4 D looked awful until Trotz made the change late last game. Hopefully Chara looks better paired with Pulock.

I think this is the pairing to go with for now and Aho can fill in for Greene and Chara as needed.

Overwhelmingly likely someone, if anyone, claims him before we could...but this would be a shrewd pickup. He's basically been a PPG player in the AHL over 2+ seasons and he'd be excellent depth for us.

He can put the puck in the net https://www.eliteprospect.../227670/alex-barre-boulet

OK.. so apparently I am the president of the Bellows fan club so I will defend him..

1. He has 5 goals in 25 NHL games. MDC has 8 goals in 111 games. That's a pretty significant difference. I have never seen MDC do this.. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Q0xcr-8fDoQ

2. His partial breakaway had a defensman hanging all over him the whole way.. probablly should have gotten a call on that play, but he never had a step on the guy.

3. The shot when he was directly in front of the net he tried to take it over the Right pad of the goalie close to the body to hand cuff him... the goalie got a piece of it with his right leg pad.. it was not in the chest.

Most of you know I watch USA hockey kids a lot and usually favor them over other players.. especially come draft time. Bellows in the U20 2018 tournament scored 9 goals. He was just a sniper.. that is who I am hoping to see every time he is on the ice. ...

This kid... https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=5QIKXv_S5Sc

I might be wrong.. but I was always excited to see him and Wahlstrom on the ice b/c I thought it would create more dangerous shooters up and down the line-up. If Keiffer can play the way Trotz wants him too... He will certainly score more goals than Leo/MDC..etc.

Here's my rebuttal
1. Mdc also sucks
2. He's slow as molasses and only can get to 3rd gear
3. He had time to make a move and didn't

And I will add:

4. He's had plenty of time to light up the AHL...........and for the most part hasn't.
